Description
The increasing amount and variety of contaminants such as heavy metals, pathogens, bacteria, and viruses
in sources of water, set a limitation for the treatment according to the conventional processes. This issue drives us
to new challenges to produce a constant safe and clean water. Membrane technology is our latest innovation to
solve the above problem.
Ultrafiltration membrane has been used extensively in medical field to remove bacteria and viruses. Now, a
novel hollow fiber design allows new application in production of drinking water for houses economically. The
hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane can remove almost 100% colloids, germs, viruses, bacteria, and all particulate
matters responsible for turbidity in the water while keeping the mineral content intact.
In case when odour is present, it is best coupled with granular activated carbon for complete odour removal.
The crystal-clear water produced is fresh and can be directly consumed without boiling. When the filter is fouled
severely, backflushing can be introduced

Ultrafiltration for Bacteria and Virus Removal
Deskripsi
Ultrafiltrasi ( UF) adalah suatu proses filtrasi dengan menggunakan membrane yang dapat menyaring larutan
yang memiliki besar molekul 1000 dalton. Ultrafiltrasi pada umumnya digunakan pada larutan yang
mengandung makromolekul, koloid, garam, gula, dan lain sebagainya. UF diterapkan pada laboratorium dan
industri pada skala besar. Membrane UF dapat digambarkan sebagai saringan berskala dimensi molecular.
Biasanya polymeric dan asymmetric membrane, dirancang untuk produktifitas tinggi. Ukuran pori-pori dari
membrane tersebut antara 0.05 µ m hingga 1 nm.
Unit Ultrafiltrasi adalah suatu system ultrafiltrasi yang terutama diigunakan untuk menghilangkan bakteri dan
virus. Model ini terdiri dari suatu pompa sentrifugal untuk menghasilkan tekanan sedang yang mendorong
proses pemisahan pada permukaan membrane. Membran Ultrafiltrasi terdiri atas suatu konfigurasi modul
Hollow Fiber (serabut berongga). Tangki berukuran 200 liter dan asesoris lainnya diperlukan pada unit tersebut.
