4. 1 - THE FOUR ELEMENTS AND THEIR PRESENTATION.
According to previous agreements, EARTH should be the first element to be worked on for the 2nd Project
Meeting to be held in Oporto, January 2014.
Due to the different ways in which countries work, BH commented that there is a need for flexibility in
presenting the elements as her students are working hard but EARTH won’t be ready and completed to
be shown by then.
It has been agreed, by majority, that as long as all ELEMENTS are worked, dealt with and presented by each
partner, throughout the two years, it is not important the order in which each country chooses to cover
them.
Some interesting issues mentioned were:
BH: mentioned the possibility of doing a presentation on WIND and sailing in January. Also, when talking
about wind, and expecting that most countries would think about renewable energies, a good surprise
was given when a Scottish student decided to work on bagpipes.
EK: EARTHquakes and their devastating effects were mentioned, (Turkey 1999), and organic agriculture
which combines EARTH and WATER.
MC: mentioned volcanoes which are EARTH and FIRE
KG: talked about the effects of forest fires in Greece.
AC: encouraged for every country to celebrate a Comenius Day.
5. 2 - SECOND PROJECT MEETING: OPORTO.
The dates for the Second Project Meeting in Oporto have been set for January
20th-24th, 2014.
MC mentioned that they are looking forward to receiving all partners in
Oporto, and that several events have already been prepared. MC asked for
the partners to include in their trip the weekend whenever possible to enjoy
as much of the city as possible, since most partners will have long flights to
get to Oporto.
MC requests every partner to bring small sellable gifts, such as bookmarks, key
rings, small toys, jams, etc. to organise a small charity market. Benefits will
be donated to an association committed to environmental issues.
6. 3 - COUNTRY PRESENTATIONS.
It has been unanimously agreed that in the future presentations will be carried out
as follows:
1st: A video, with background music will be shown. I think that it should say: “A
re-showing of the presentations made in Latvia, but with no students having
to speak, and perhaps music added to the powerpoints or videos.”
2nd: Work on an ELEMENT will be presented, up to ten minutes maximum.
3rd: Each partner will perform a short National Act for the audience which could be
a representative poem, song, dance, etc.
7. 4 - PROJECT WEBSITE - 4E BLOG.
It has been made clear that there is a need to share evidence of the meetings
and presentations to students, families, teachers and educational centres.
The way on how to do this was discussed and to avoid a complicated IT follow up
GH has volunteered to design the FOUR ELEMENT interactive blog, which
will comprise all events, inputs, videos, photos and all news related to the
project. Partners thanked and accepted the GH proposed blog unanimously.
