● Video traffic accounts for over half of all mobile traffic
and is expected to continue to grow to up to 70% in
the next few years.
● The combination of video and tablets are like
chocolate and peanut butter, they go great together!
● Video content is a very effective way to teach people
just about anything and can virally distribute ideas.

7. Tablets to the Rescue
● Tablets are easy and intuitive to use, no mouse
required! If you can touch and point, you can
use a tablet.
● Tablets are a fantastic way to watch video.
● Tablets are inherently interactive.
● Tablets are highly portable, light and have long
battery lives compared to most laptops.
● Tablets can be turned on and off quickly

8. Tablets to the Rescue...
● People can use tablets to easily watch and
learn from videos
● People can learn in the privacy of their own
homes at any hour or they can take their tablet
on the road and learn just about anywhere.
● Tablets permit multiple viewers which can make
them more inclusive then other devices
● Kids love tablets like the iPad too!

9. People want and need to learn
but...
● Traditional classes can conflict with work.
● Travel can be inconvenient and prohibitive.
● Courses can be expensive.
● Many instructors don't record videos of their
classes for later playback.
● The types of things people want to learn may
not be available through traditional schools.

10. People want to learn about non-
academic stuff too!
● Traditional lessons on biology and chemistry
and math are great but...
● What about cooking and home renovation and
fitness and nutrition and guitar playing and...this
is a very long list!
● A lot of people don't care about the degree or
credentials, they just want to expand their
minds and learn something new.

11. A Huge Opportunity
● There is and will continue to be an enormous
need for people to learn new things.
● Mobile devices like the iPad will play a
significant role in how people learn now and in
the future.
● Video is a highly effective tool for teaching and
is perfectly suited to tablets.
12. First Steps
● Getting your video content ready for tablets
could be as easy as uploading your video to
YouTube or Vimeo or other sharing sites.
● If you are an educational institution, why not try
out iTunes U?
● Maybe setting up a video Podcast will do the
trick.
● Building a native iPhone App is also an option.

● If so, take a look at what's happening with
mobile devices like the iPad and think about
how you can use video to your advantage.
● Take a lesson from Salman Khan, teaching
doesn't have to be ultra fancy to be effective!
