    • Editing Clips in the Timeline: Deleting, Lifting & Extracting Clips Premiere Pro CS4
    • To delete an entire clip from the timeline, you can simply click on the right-click on the clip and select “CUT.” This leaves a gap where you deleted. Right click  CUT
    • To delete an entire clip and shift the remaining clips over, right click and slect “RIPPLE EDIT.” Right click  RIPPLE EDIT
    • You can also delete portions of clips. Do this in the PROGRAM WINDOW. First, set the in and out points of the portion you want to delete.
    • You can see the in and out points identified on the timeline. This is the portion you’re going to delete.
    • To delete this portion and leave a gap, click on the “LIFT” button in the PROGRAM panel. PROGRAM panel
    • The “LIFT” tool leaves a space or gap where you deleted.
    • To delete this portion shift other clips over, click on the “EXTRACT” button in the PROGRAM panel. PROGRAM panel
    • Notice that the In and Out Points are also removed from the timeline, and the remaining clips have shifted to the right to fill the gap . Deleted portion
