Subject Grade one to three of senior high students The age of students 16 to 19 years old ( They have listening and writing skill but not very well ) Numbers of students 20 Time 50 minutes Objective This course aims to improve students’ writing from their interest and daily life. They can write about their favorite sports and know a lot of name of sport and write the daily life and send to their teacher. Materials Six posters, Worksheets with some questions and sport names, Handouts( chart1-5). Language skill This course emphasizes on the writing skills, especially on narrative writing. Evaluations Five paragraphs narrative articles, assignment ( sending mail to the teacher)
  • 3. Warm up Warm up: ( 5 minutes) A teacher shows six sports’ posters on the blackboard to attract students’ interest to focus on the course. Asking students “ Which sports is your favorite?” The students have to try to answer it and point it. The teacher will explain the names of ports in English and Chinese.

    • Writing the five paragraphs ( 40 minutes)
    • 1.The teacher gives the students worksheet to know more
    • names of sports and which sports should used do, play,
    • go. The tips are on the posters. They have to fill in the
    • blanks.

    • 2.The teacher asks students to have a brain-storming like
    • chart1 . The teacher is the adviser and the students are the
    • masters.
    • 3. After brain- storming, the students have to start to write the
    • paragraphs and they can take the answers of questions for
    • example like chart 2 .

    • 4.The teacher will teach some sentences’ patterns
    • to help students like chart3,4.
  • 16. Chart 3 Pattern 1 1. S. + suggest +that + S.+ ( should) +V. ( 人 ) 建議 EX: My doctor suggests that I ( should) take exercise regularly. 2. If it were not for + N., S. +V. 若非 EX: If it were not for strong bodies, we can do nothing at all. EX: If a person doesn’t exercise regularly, he easily get tired physically, wrecked spiritually. 3. Not only….. but also 不僅……而且 EX: Taking exercise can not only make our heart stronger but also cultivate our patience. EX: If many people take part in sports, it can not only strengthen our muscles but also promote friendship.

EX : When taking sports, we will sweat a lot, which can stimulate the circulation of blood. 5. Those who+ V. 凡…的人 EX: Those who like to take exercise will be strong and energetic .

    • 5. The teacher will introduce the structures of the writing like
    • chart5 .
    • During this task, students can ask their teacher to help them.
    • The teachers will give students’ feedbacks on their writing
    • papers.
    • The correction is necessary on this course.
    • At the end of the class students have to turn in the paper.

    • Make the conclusion.
