This document provides a step by step guide how to create a Twitter presence and expo- nentially build a network of followers to promote your products or services. The first step in building a Twitter network of followers involves establishing a plan or a goal for your network endeavor. In most cases the ultimate goal for establishing and expanding a social network of Twitter followers is revenue or awareness driven. If this is the case, make sure you have links ready to share. These can be product, services, affiliate or any other web based link you plan on using as your network expands and, once it has reach optimal potential. Handles should not contain numbers, be randomly selected, use underscore or be made to imitate someone famous. Step 2: Update your Twitter Profile Your Profile is Key to Your Twitter Success Your Twitter profile is to be compared to a business card where relevant information about you can be found. To maximize exposure your Twitter profile must feature as much information about you or your industry as possible. Your first tweets should be amicable and introductory, for example: > Typing my first tweet... Why am-I nervous? > Finally joined Twitter, excited about being part of this social network. > Sitting at my computer, tweeting for the first time. Throughout the rest of day 1 you must continue to tweet in an effort to populate your Twitter timeline. This timeline will be visited by countless potential followers in the days/weeks ahead therefor it is imperative for some sort of content to be found in your timeline. Other manual tweet you should consider throughout day 1 include what you are ac- tually doing, re-tweets or links to things of interest. All links should be shortened to allow for personalization. Tweet Later allows you to setup a single or numerous Twitter accounts to automatically send di- rect messages to every person who chooses to follow you on Twitter. http://www.tweetlater.com Twitter’s direct messages or “DM” feature are a perfect opportunity for you to pro- mote your products, services, affiliate links or to raise awareness to any web link in tune with your goal. To setup the auto DM feature on Tweet Later simply create an account, then: 1. From the main window, under the “My Accounts” menu on the right hand side, select “Accounts”. 2. From the sub-menu select “Add Account” 3. Select Twitter from the list or available accounts 4. Enter your Twitter username and password 5. Check the “Auto Welcome” feature 6. Type in your DM message, include at least one link 7. Check the “Auto Unfollow” box 8. Click the “Save” button Within 8 hours Tweet Later will automatically send your DMs to everyone who follows you from this point on without any further action on your part. This feature should be implemented by advanced users only. Once you have setup an account add up to 25 tweets remembering each tweet should be no more than 140 characters. Save your schedule to run at 2.7 hour intervals which should take about 3 days to cycle through thereby populating your Twitter timeline accordingly. Tweets should be engaging and informative but not time rele- vant since you do not control the tweet selection or the exact time each tweet will be served through Twitter. At least half your Tweet Spinner tweets should feature links to your products, services or affiliates.
