  2. 2. What if PRACTICUM 1001 could..?  administer a healthy dose of Technophilia that would wipe out the technophobia, the general denial, reluctance and cultural encapsulation before they reach to Educational Technology.
  3. 3. What if PRACTICUM 1001 could…? encode the digital DNA of Prac 1 students so that in addition to achieving the learning outcomes for reflective practice, they would also be more digitally awake, aware and attuned to the expectations of 21st Century Practitioners.
  4. 4. Cultivating Technological Habits of Mind (Operating Assumptions) • Digital literacy can be strengthened instinctively through exposure and deliberate integration of technology in the delivery of Practicum 1001’s objectives. • Pre-service teachers in Week 1 of Semester 1 of their First Year in the Bachelor of Education Progamme are unavoidably and unapologetically pre-service 21st Century Practitioners.

Cultivating Technological Habits of Mind (Operating Assumptions) • 21st Century Practitioners possess the 16 essential habits of mind (Costa & Kallick, 2008) • The 16 essential habits of mind can be nurtured and supported within Practicum 1001. • A 21st Century teacher is one who instinctively partners with technology in the execution of those 16 habits of mind.
