Be A Better Golf Player - Presentation Transcript

    1. Being the Best Golf Player You Can Be
    2. To Be the Best
      • If you want to be the best golf player that you can be (and beat all your buddies in the process), you need to understand that being the best goes beyond just having a low score.
      • Skill is a very important asset but you need to consider the big picture when it comes to improving your game.
    3. Concentrate On Three Things:
      • Fitness
      • Practice
      • Etiquette
    4. Fitness
      • If you want to be good at any sport you need to keep your body and mind in good shape.
      • By making sure that your body is in shape, your game will get better and you will be able to play the game well into your retirement years.
    5. Eat Right and Exercise
      • For golf, you should definitely do some cardiovascular exercise and muscle building.
      • If you really want to see what your fitness level is then some indicators are your blood pressure and your BMI (body mass index).
      • If you know the results of these indicators, you can gage what your overall fitness is.
      • You will then also know where you need to focus
      • Consult with your doctor on what levels are right for your age and body type.
      • Also consult them prior to starting any fitness program.

      • So you should find ways to reduce stress in your life, especially the day before and the day of your golf game.
      • You need to in ways to relieve yourself of stress.
    8. Relaxation
      • Develop a regular meditation time alone or with family/friends.
      • You can also try relaxation tapes that will help you to relax.
      • Hypnosis may even be used to help your mind stay focused on the game.

    12. Practice
      • You need to practice regularly to improve your game.
      • You may want to play more and practice less but what you really need to do is to practice more and play less.
      • This way when you do play you will get far better scores.
    13. How Much Practice?
      • By practicing more, you develop techniques and muscle memory that will carry well into your game.
      • You know what they say, practice makes perfect.
      • You should practice at least 2 hours for every hour that you play the game.
      • You should also not do this on the same day.
      • You should practice one day and then play on a different day.
      • This way you will not get bored with just practicing.
      • Here are some golf drill videos you can use
        • ( www.videojug.com /tag/ golf-practice -drills )‏
    14. Don’t Stop Learning
      • Keep learning about the game.
      • You never stop learning in anything that you do well.
      • Not just because you know how to play means you already know everything there is.
      • So either enroll in a class or take up a lesson or two with a more advanced player.
      • You should do this at least annually.
      • This kind of dedication will make you a better player.
    15. Etiquette
      • You may become a great player but if you are not a fun person to play with you may be playing alone.
      • If you are rude and obnoxious others will not want to play with you.
      • As a gentleman’s game, rules pertaining to respecting others are of utmost importance.
      • So follow the rules and be polite.
