  • 3. Major Assignments • Regular readings and blogs. • Close reading critical analyses: One 10-12 page paper per semester. • Creative project: write one fiction or poetry work in the style of an American author to be published in class literary e-zine.
  • 4. Class Blog Project Update your blog twice weekly about weekly readings. Don’t forget to read and comment on classmates’ blogs! Example posts • New vocabulary words • Ideas on literary themes • Character analysis We will discuss topics from blogs in class.
  • 5. Literary E-Zine Learn about online publishing by producing a literary magazine featuring students’ writing. E-Zine will be downloadable from teacher and school websites. This project will utilize • InDesign – e-zine layout • Photoshop – image editing • Word – text editing
  • 6. Role-Playing Speeches Give a 10-minute speech from the first-person view of a literary character. Speeches will be filmed and posted on class website. Role-Playing Speech
  • 7. Library Field Trip Learn to access literary journals online. What other media is there in the library? We'll use much more than books!
