    2. Madras
      • Madras (n): a light cotton fabric of various weaves, esp. one in multicolored plaid or stripes, used for shirts, dresses, jackets, etc.
      • Her large madras jacket hung loosely on her thin frame.
    3. Cowlick
      • Cowlick (n): a tuft of hair that grows in a direction different from that of the rest of the hair.
      • His curly cowlick stuck out from the back of his neck.
    4. Unfathomable
      • Unfathomable (adj):Difficult or impossible to understand; incomprehensible
      • The little girl gaped at the unfathomable fighting of her parents.
    5. Savvy
      • Savvy (n/adj.) :practical understanding; shrewdness or intelligence; common sense
      • The mechanist had to technology savvy.
    6. Aloof
      • Aloof (adv. adj.): at a distance, esp. in feeling or interest
      • The marble statue seemed aloof, but it was truly lonely frozen by itself.
    7. Impersonally
      • Impersonal (Adj.): not personal; without reference or connection to a particular person
      • The woman hurtful remark was meant to be impersonal.
    8. Ornery
      • Ornery (Adj.): ugly and unpleasant in disposition or temper
      • The ornery lightning shredded and ripped at the black skyline.
    9. Resignedly
      • Resignedly (Adv): submissive or acquiescent
      • The eldest resignedly gave up her warm cozy room to her sister, who was easily frightened of the shadows in her own large room.
    10. Ruefully
      • Ruefully (Adv.): causing sorrow or pity; pitiable; deplorable
      • The pitiable rabbit ruefully ran from the snarling coyote.
    11. Hermit
      • Hermit (n): a person who has withdrawn to a solitary place for a life of religious seclusion.
      • The boy who wandered by himself in a lonely manner was born to be a hermit.
    12. Premonition
      • Premonition (n): a feeling of anticipation of or anxiety over a future event
      • The fisherman turned back to shore when he felt a premonition of a great stormy doom.
    13. Reluctantly
      • Reluctantly (Adj.): unwilling; disinclined
      • The dimwitted student reluctantly groaned out of his bed after a night without sleep.
    14. Sullen
      • Sullen(Adj.): showing irritation or ill humor by a gloomy silence or reserve.
      • The quiet orphan always remained sullenly in her own corner.
    15. Eluded
      • Eluded (v): to avoid or escape by speed, cleverness, trickery
      • The servant eluded the master’s glair when she dropped his precious china.
    16. Imploringly
      • Imploringly (Adv.): to beg urgently or piteously, as for aid or mercy; beseech; entreat
      • The wet kitten meowed imploringly for a warm loving home.
    17. Gallant
      • Gallant (Adj.): brave, spirited, noble-minded, or chivalrous
      • The boy was being idiotic when he ran across the highway to show off But, he was being gallant when he admitted to spitting the spitball so that his friend would not get in trouble.
    18. Indignant
      • Indignant (Adj.): feeling, characterized by, or expressing strong displeasure at something considered unjust, offensive, insulting, or base
      • The high spirited girl indignantly scoffed at the petty girls.
    19. Testify
      • Testify (v): to bear witness; give or afford evidence
      • The impostor testified against the innocent.
    20. Jolt
      • Jolt (v): to jar, shake, or cause to move by or as if by a sudden rough thrust; shake up roughly
      • Timothy received a jolt when he realized that the shadow following him was much too big to be his own.
    21. Keeled
      • Keeled (v): to capsize or overturn.
      • Trees were strewn and keeled over after the tornado struck the town.
    22. Inhalation
      • Inhalation (n): an act or instance of inhaling.
      • Klora’s inhalation brought clean pure air back into water filled lungs.
    23. Hysterics
      • Hysterics (n): a fit of uncontrollable laughter or weeping.
      • The poor old nun from the Pitit Pipcus convent went into hysterics under its strict law.
    24. Mimicking
      • Mimicking (v): to imitate or copy in action, speech, etc., often playfully or derisively.
      • I glared at the stupid mimicking parrot
    25. Radiates
      • Radiate (v): to send out rays or waves, to emit
      • The family in the zoo radiated all the happiness and contentment of the world.
    26. Mourning
      • Mourning (n): the act of a person who mourns, sorrowing or lamenting
      • The drooping sunflower seemed to be mourning the setting sun.
    27. Aghast
      • Aghast (adj.): struck with overwhelming shock or amazement
      • The farmer looked on aghast as all of his crop was picked off by crows.
    28. Exploits
      • exploits (n): a striking or notable deed; feat; spirited or heroic act
      • It seems so unfair that all the exploits of courageous people around the world cannot be recorded.
    29. Faltered
      • faltered (v): to hesitate or waver in action, purpose, intent, etc.; give way
      • Hardships hardened her, and experience never let her actions falter.
    30. Resemblance
      • resemblance (n): the state or fact of resembling; similarity.
      • The resemblance between the clones was eerie in a way that twins never could shake you.
    31. Divert
      • divert (n): to turn aside or from a path or course; deflect.
      • Do not try to divert or stray my beliefs into a road full of ashes.
    32. Clenching
      • clenching (v): to close (the hands, teeth, etc.) tightly.
      • The man’s face was emotionless buthis clenching hands showed just how furious he actually was.
    33. Grimacing
      • grimacing (n): a facial expression, often ugly or contorted, that indicates disapproval, pain, etc.
      • She grimaced at the gruesome patients of the fire.
    34. Underprivileged
      • underpriviledged (adj.): denied the enjoyment of the normal privileges or rights of a society because of low economic and social status.
      • The underpriviledged servant looked on in anger at the spoiled girls she served.
    35. Conformity
      • conformity (n): action in accord with prevailing social standards, attitudes, practices, etc
      • The grave bishop was not the normal conformity to other king like bishops.
    36. Contempt
      • contempt (n): the feeling with which a person regards anything considered mean, vile, or worthless; disdain; scorn.
      • I truly wished to scrape his contemptuous sneer off his face.
    37. Escort
      • escort (n) :a group of persons, or a single person, accompanying another or others for protection, guidance, or courtesy
      • You will definitely be needing an escort when traveling to the amazons.
    38. Convinced
      • convinced (v): to move by argument or evidence to belief, agreement, consent, or a course of action
      • The judge did not look convinced at the convicts pleas.
    39. Delirious
      • delirious (adj.) : wild with excitement, enthusiasm
      • The little children ran in circles, delirious under the rain.
    40. Circumstances
      • circumstance (n): condition, detail, part, or attribute, with respect to time, place, manner,agent, etc., that accompanies, determines, or modifies a fact or event; a modifying or influencing factor
      • The intruder quietly crept out when he realized he had barged in on an uncomfortable circumstance.
