  3. 3. Government <ul><li>Rome had an Emperor </li></ul><ul><li>The Emperor ruled the land </li></ul><ul><li>Rome had a body of senators </li></ul><ul><li>The senators helped to make laws and judge problems </li></ul>
  4. 4. Entertainment <ul><li>The Roman Coliseum was a place for entertainment. </li></ul><ul><li>The Coliseum was also used to show criminals being punished. </li></ul>

Catacombs <ul><li>Catacombs were tunnels outside the city gates </li></ul><ul><li>Catacombs were used by Christians to bury their dead </li></ul><ul><li>There are miles and miles of catacombs, some are three levels high </li></ul><ul><li>When Christianity became legal, in 313 A.D., the catacombs were used to bury famous people from the church </li></ul>
  7. 7. Circus Maximus The Circus Maximus was a track where chariots raced. These were very exciting and dangerous races.
