  2. 2. <ul><li>Origin of June Parties: </li></ul><ul><li>June parties started when the Portuguese came to Brazil in 1500. </li></ul><ul><li>“ Festa Junina” has that name because it is celebrated in June. </li></ul><ul><li>They are celebrated in June 13th (Santo Antônio), 24th (São João) and 29th (São Pedro). </li></ul>Origin of June Parties
  3. 3. <ul><li>Typical foods are made of corn. </li></ul><ul><li>Some examples are: baked corn, hominy, popcorn, corn cake, “pamonha” (a fresh corn cake). </li></ul><ul><li>Typical drinks of the party for adults are made of alchool. Some examples are: quentão, pinga and others, but there are also drinks made from other things. </li></ul>Typical Foods and drinks

Whoever finishes climbing the mast, gets the gift. </li></ul><ul><li>“ Correio Elegante”: It is a game where participants send each other love messages during the party. </li></ul>Games
