    • WELCOME! Ms. McBride’s First Grade Open House
    • Hi! I am Ms. McBride. I will be teaching your children this year!
    • Subjects we will learn this year:
      • Reading
      • Writing
      • Spelling
      • Mathematics
      • Social Studies
      • Science
    • Our Morning Schedule
      • 8:10 Attendance, Announcements
      • 8:15 Homework folder turn in
      • 8:20 Story time and Reflection
      • 9:00 Spelling
      • 9:40 Writing
      • 10:20 Morning break
      • 10:30 Mathematics
      • 11:15 Lunch!
      • 11:45 Recess
    • Our Afternoon Schedule:
      • 12:15 Arts and Crafts
      • 12:45 Library time/storytelling
      • 1:30 Social Studies
      • 2:10 Science
      • 2:50 Dismissal
    • Schedule Notes
      • We will be implementing P.E. Class into the schedule on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
      • Music class will also be implemented in the schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
      • The schedule will vary, we will not cover every subject everyday.

    • Homework Folders
      • Your child should bring home his or her homework folder every night.
      • This needs to be looked over by the parent and initialed.
      • I will send home assignments and announcements in this folder.
      • Please make sure your child brings this home every night and brings it to school every morning.
    • Parents, I need you!
      • There are various ways that you can be involved in your child’s class.
      • I am in need of room parents to help with field trips and class parties.
      • I am also in need of volunteer story tellers.
      • We will be asking parents to come in and speak about their professions to the students.
      • Please see me tonight to sign up!
    • Tips for a great year:
      • Be involved in what your children are doing!
      • Please make me aware of any special needs.
