  • Introduce yourself and talk a little bit about the position and past positions at SCSL.Do a show of hands: how many on FB? How many twitter? Anyone on MySpace? LinkedIN? Other social networks?
  • Remind people to pay really close attention as the stats go by quickly
  • Ask probing questions to get at what people think
  • Ask for points and definite ways libraries are changing. Ask how staff members see their own library changing and how other libraries are changing.
  • Mention that last December, Amazon sold more Kindle eBooks than physical books. How are eBooks changing the library?
  • Texting is very popular! How is texting changing the library? Charleston County Public Library is currently using a text a librarian service.
  • March 30th 408 libraries in SC responded to these three simple questions. Make comparison to the 2009 Clemson Carolina game had 80,574 attendees. So in one day, libraries in SC have twice as many visitors. IN ONE DAY.
  • Gives you an opportunity to directly communicate with users, resolve issues, promote services…
