    Dear Cris,
I came across the word 'digifolios' while browsing a blog today, and I decided to google it to see what this was about. And guess what? The first Google result took me directly to your presentation!

I couldn’t have found a better way to learn about the topic. Your presentation is very clear and easy to follow. I’ve taken the liberty of embedding it and quoting part of your comments in my personal blog. Hope you don’t mind.

    My congrats and thanks,
    Mary

Really enjoyed following your thoughts, Cristina. Just wanted to let you know that I couldn’t access Freefolios at all - as it seems to be ’under construction’. I also wondered if there was a similar organisation in Australia to CMALT?

    Hi Cristina,
Have just come across the presentation you made about digifolios. It was interesting to hear because those are the ideas that many of us stand for. I think I needed a presentation like this to showcase about digifolios or eportfolios. I might need to show my teacher colleagues to help me convey these ideas.

    Hi Chris,

I want to save your your digifolio offline to show it to other teacher. I tried tio do it using my slide share account but it seems the internet connection here isn’t working properly. Is there another way to do it?

I have listened to it several times. My future plan is letting students create digifolio. I have started dowing my own. I took some ideas from yours. I feel that you’re right everone of us should have a digifolio.

    Thanks chris...

@Doug Thanks. We do need to address this challenges don’t we. And the better way of doing this is by collaborating and connecting to people who are interested in learning and the voice of those who learn.

@sus thanks. You should try to make your own too.. I wouldn’t be able to understand your danish, but it would be useful for the Danish speaking audience.

Thank you so much about the feedback on structure . I need to pay attention about it. I am still learning and I quite need this kind of feedback. I will make sure to do a better job next time. I need to practice and I need you all to think with me. It helps me learn how to develop my stories better. Thank you so much!

    Hi Cristina

As you might guess I totally agree with what you are saying :)

So just a comment on the slides themselves

I totally agree with you not having bullet points etc - they just dumb down presnetations - but the structure question is real.

Is it possible to ’follow’ the presentation without hearing you speak.

Well in this case just about. But if we agree that the pictures (plus a few words) should tell a story you have to make sure there are enough parts to the story to provide structure / direction / coherence. I reckon that you could have doubled your number of slides and that would make your story even richer

Notes on slide 1

The digifolio International Seminar May, 22 to 24, 2008 Helsinki We would like to present the idea that Digifolios have a bigger role than that of assessing students’ learning. It can in fact also be used to aid the development of one’s digital professional identity, which is becoming quite important in the current job market. Online recruitment is now a reality. It has, in fact, become a rather frequent strategy to find new employees. Employers have also started to “google” their future staff in search of relevant information. Electronic portfolios are thus turning into the new job passport. It enables professionals to provide a more tangible evidence of their formal and informal life learning path. The easy read-write web has also provided people with a wider range of professional development opportunities, which otherwise would have been more difficult to have access to or engage with. The recent web advancements have also enabled the individual to be in real publishing situations, where he/she can develop his/her own voice and pursue more personalized learning routes freely. Individuals are now able to develop their own Digifolio independently of the institution they are associated with and keep it afterwards – as it is becomes part of their identity.
