Blogging, microblogging and podcasting@Maliha Lifelong Learning has always been supported with informal experiences. My grandpa used to say that school was OK, but it would be from the school of real life (my own experiences in daily life activity) that I would learn the most important lessons. And ain’t that the truth? we learn with one another as we go along and interact and observe what others are doing...and adopt some of the things that we see as useful for our personal learning and practice - we all learn with everyone that show us something that is meaningful to us. I am just lucky to be sorrounded from people like you who are super enthusiastic . It keeps me going! ;-)
@kdbostain I took the picture myself, and then used picnik.com to edit it! ;-)10 months ago

eBased Personal Learning SpacesMy PLE is heavily influenced by the Communities and people I learn with - because learning is not a solo-journey, I have to make myself available where the others are present too! Adoption of social software is a chain-reaction kind of a thing. Either you sign up to the environments where others interact or you are excluding yourself of those learning and interaction opportunities.2 years ago

digifolio@Doug Thanks. We do need to address this challenges don’t we. And the better way of doing this is by collaborating and connecting to people who are interested in learning and the voice of those who learn.
@sus thanks. You should try to make your own too.. I wouldn’t be able to understand your danish, but it would be useful for the Danish speaking audience.
Thank you so much about the feedback on structure . I need to pay attention about it. I am still learning and I quite need this kind of feedback. I will make sure to do a better job next time. I need to practice and I need you all to think with me. It helps me learn how to develop my stories better. Thank you so much!2 years ago

digifolioDuring with an email conversation with Hoda _ a member of Blogging for educators - I voiced my conclusion/reflection about my performance in the digifolio seminar: There was so much more to say than what I actually was able to at that moment of nervousness in which I forgot all I had planned to say and spontaneously articulate some ideas. I will have to blog about and I hope the conversation can also take place there in my blog.
Meanwhile I just want to say that I think eportfolios really have a "saying" in the 21st century, and we as educators need to look at it from the students’ perspective. And also find ways to realize how it can add value to what they are doing. It is important to guide them to establish their professional and personal identity in order to make them more marketable to their future careers. How people can be prepared / mentored to show evidence of their knowledge (what they know), of their ongoing activity (what, how and with whom they are learning) and of their predisposition to keep learning and upgrading their skills ( how flexible, how dynamic and how willing they are to constantly improve and excel) . ;-)
That’s a big challenge we have to address here, n’est pas? ;-)2 years ago

digifolioThanks Torhild, I will take that into account next time.
@Carla: your digifolio is also great and would love to work with you more on something like this. Remember our voicethreads for Escola 2.0? It was such a great exercise to recall what I knew and had achieved, and also how much more I still have to learn and achieve. And that is the fun Part: the journey into knowing. That’s the process we all have to go through. It takes a life time. That’s learning. Learning about us individuals, learning how to overcome our needs as professional people, learning how to learn and how to be prepared to learn more, as to be ready to answer the new situation that haven’t yet been invented. ...2 years ago

Educational Social Software Edmedia 2007Seen from this perspective Bb looks rather small and insignificant in comparison with the so called web 2.0 endless possibilities! And so it should…I guess!?
The question then is: how long do we still have to wait for this perspective to be adopted by a wider (academic/ Staff) audience?3 years ago

Educational Social Software Edmedia 2007I second Scott’s words. I really like the hand-on approach. I think it is the way to go. Negotiating with the IT dept. is a big deal, but something that has to be done. An open dialog among the interested parties (Technician and academic staff and the learners of course) is what we lack most of the times. How to you get people to talk to each other – that’s the question…3 years ago
