Removing astra h dials Document Transcript

  • 1. • Removing Astra H DialsDont know if anyone has done on yet but here is a nice pic tutorial on how to remove the dialsfrom the mk5 astra.Ok well, what you need is T20 Torx and a no. 1 screwdriver and patience lol.First of all we need to turn the steering wheel (turn engine on) to get the screws behind them.Remove the wee caps and use your no. 1 screwdriverMind the other oneNow disconnect your battery! before proceding.---------------------------------------------
  • 2. TIP: Use the steering wheel adjustment so you can get some movement around itNow the top of the steering assembly will now just lift offNow looking from above there are 2 screws (T20 Torx) that need to be removed.and
  • 3. Now undo the screw (T20 Torx) at the very bottom of the steering wheel assembly (may need anextension)
  • 4. Now just pull out the ignition capNow the bottom half should just pull away
  • 5. the bottom is away we can see 2 screws (T20 Torx) under the dials that need to be taken out.
  • 6. Now pulling the bottom of the dials under and over it will come out to reveal the under side ofthe dials
  • 7. so no you can see the cables attached (left hand side), there is a red clip on this. All you do is pullit out and the section holding the cables will fall away.
  • 8. when pulledvwahla, it can just come out now.but now to remove the dust protector all you do is push in the 2 wee clips on the back and pull itaway
  • 9. pull awayAnd for reassembly just reverse everything you did.DONT TURN ON THE IGNITION WITH PANELS REMOVED OR LOOSE! canbus willregister that an airbag has blown and you will need a tech 2 to reboot your canbus...
