The Nonprofit Energy Alliance is a collaboration between the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Nonprofit Montgomery and Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington. NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCEOverview – Nonprofit Montgomery, Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County, formed the NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCE, an initiative to negotiate as a group for cheaper and greener electricity.A collaboration between The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Nonprofit Montgomery, the Nonprofit Roundtable, and the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection

NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCEThe “Greening” of Nonprofits – Enhances the “triple bottom line” by • generating “cash” savings that can be dedicated towards mission while • protecting the environment and • enhancing community well being – Bolsters the case of sound social and fiscal management to funders – Improves employee and volunteer moral, productivity and dedicationA collaboration between The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Nonprofit Montgomery, the Nonprofit Roundtable, and the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection

NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCENONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCE (NPEA) is not a formal or contractualgroup, but an alliance of like-minded nonprofits who have joined togetherto use their collective purchasing power to not only secure competitiveelectricity supply at lower cost, but to protect the environment and build agreener economy by supporting clean sources of energy that are essentialto protecting our environment and building a new economy.Launched in May 2010, NPEA is now comprised of 50 leading-edgenonprofits that will collectively save an estimated $366,000 compared tostandard energy service, while supporting clean sources of energy that areessential to protecting our environment and building a new economy. Theimpact is equivalent to taking 1700 cars off the roads or powering 700homes over a one-year period.   • 5. NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCEThis is the fifth initiative of the NonprofitEnergy Alliance. To obtain the best price,Nonprofit Energy Alliance V will seek a 1 or 2-year quote for 50% or 100% renewable energyfrom Clean Currents, chosen by a selectioncommittee of nonprofits who evaluated threelocal providers. A collaboration between The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Nonprofit Montgomery, the Nonprofit Roundtable and the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection

NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCEAll nonprofit organizations and congregationswho want to purchase alternative energy as agroup will complete the Clean Currents ReleaseForm and provide it, along with a copy of yourorganization’s most recent electric bill(s) and yourorganization’s 501(c)3 letter by 12:00 noonTuesday, April 3, 2012.The formal arrangement will remain betweeneach individual organization and Clean Currents . NONPROFIT ENERGY ALLIANCE• Clean Currents will provide quotes to all potential participating organizations during the week of April 9, 2012• On Wednesday April 18, A decision-maker in your organization must be prepared to sign a contract.
