Here the slides I used for the 2011 SharePoint Saturday online (SPSEMEA). In this I discuss what usability testing is, why it isn't used, how to sell it, methodology and even review a sample test.

  • Usability testing is seen as an unnecessary addition to already tight project schedules.
  • Most BAs and PMs don’t understand the benefits of usability testing. They are then unequipped to explain the need and benefits to clients.
  • Content is key, and it’s necessary to ensure that your content meets the needs of your users.
  • Not a good reason to do usability testing.Often shows that what you were debating out about wasn’t important.
  • You can mix and matchMost likely won’t have a local / unmoderated.
