    • How old are you? 14 12 10 8 6 How old are you? 4 2 0 16-17 18-20 21-22 23+I didn’t cover enough of the target audience, so my questionnaire is answered by only 16-20 yearolds, so the questionnaire is bias towards this age range. So therefore my final magazine will appealto this age range. what gendre are you? male femaleMy magazine will appeal to both genders as I’ve asked both males and females to do thequestionnaire but more males answered the questions so the opinions given will be bias towardsthis gender.
    • what type of dance music do you listen to? House trance oldschool otherFrom this chart, its clear most of my target audience listen to House style dance music, this helpsnow to know what artists I will feature, events I could advertise as well as the influence on thedesign. But also Old school music was some people’s choice, this type of music was listen to in theearly 90’s, so even with the young age of the people answering they still like this style of music. Thiscould open an opportunity for my magazine to make a regular article paying tribute to old timeclassics. 9 8 7 6 5 where do you buy music 4 magazines? 3 2 1 0 whsmiths newsagents supermarkets otherThis suggests where I would sell my product, the most popular answer was whsmiths andsupermarkets- so selling them to big chains looks like the best option to get the product to myaudience.
    • 4.5 4 3.5 3 2.5 2 think of a word you assosiate 1.5 with dance music? 1 0.5 0With this question, I wanted to get a verity of words people who are interested in this genre thinkabout when answered this question. There was a verity of answers given, but the highest answergiven was clubs. This suggests the content of my magazine can feature clubs and the nightlife. Loudand drugs where the second most popular option, but for ethical reasons I will not use drugs in anyway in my magazine. 9 8 7 6 5 How do you know that 4 magazine is that particular genre? 3 2 1 0 images text desigh colour all otherMost people said all of the given elements that show you the genre of the magazine are importantto show what type of magazine it is. This shows I need to try and make the design of my magazinelook like a dance one through all of the elements above.
    • 9 8 7 6 5 How much would you spend on 4 a magazine? 3 2 1 0 £2-3 £2-4 £4-5 £5+This question shows £2-£5 pound is the range people spend. This gives an indication my magazineshould have a similar price range, for example £3.25, so people are not put off by the price. What is your favourite colour? 4.5 4 3.5 3 2.5 2 1.5 1 0.5 0 red blue purple orange black green yellow pinkWith this question, the answered were varied, so a range of colours can be used. But this also showsno one picked the colour pink. So pink shouldn’t really be a colour I should use for the colourscheme. The most popular answers given were red and blue, so these colours should be usedsomewhere in the design.
    • 8 7 6 5 4 3 who out of the given, are your 2 favourite artists? 1 0The most popular answer with this was Chase and status, this response shows I can do an article onthis artist and capture people’s interest. Calvin Harris and David Gueta where not so popularanswers, so both artists should be a feature article on my magazine as people aren’t as interested inthese as others. what type of questions would you like to be asked in an interview with your favourite artist? About current/upcoming events personal life comical questions their opinions all otherThese results are slightly varied, but the most popular answer was about current/upcoming eventsso I need to make sure information like this is in their and in the double page spread, do somethingabout an event or interviewing a DJ about events. Also their opinions wasn’t anybody’s answer sothis part of the interview should be small or not their at all as people wont be interested to read it.
    • what style do you like dance music magazines to be written? formal fun apinionated comical all otherFun is the most dominant answer but only slightly, comical was also a popular answer as well as all. This suggests my audience would prefer to read a magazine written in a few styles, depending onthe talked about issue. 9 8 7 6 5 4 what do you mostly like about the magazines you currently 3 read? 2 1 0Its clear most people liked the pictures in the magazines they currently read, so a lot of well thoughtout, clear images should be used on the front cover, contents page and double page spread. Alsofeatures were a popular answer showing this is a major part of considering the front cover headline.
    • 6 5 4 3 what do you dislike about the magazines you currently read? 2 1 0 content pictures people places regulars featuresPeople were a popular answer, so this should be carefully thought out with the type of people Ishould have in my magazine. Also regulars were a popular answer so maybe my issue needs to havegood/interesting regulars to outdo completion. 12 10 8 6 what is it that makes you buy that particular magazine? 4 2 0 price feature colour quality content other articleFeature article was most people answer, so this is the thing that most people buy the magazine forand captures their attention. This shows my feature article needs to be clear on the front cover, using a large image and large, bold font and interesting.
    • 7 6 5 4 is there anything that puts you 3 off buying thast particular magazine? 2 1 0 price feature colour quality content otherWith this question, the answers were slightly varied why people wouldn’t buy the magazine. Thisshows I should take care of all these considerations so people won’t want to buy it, The mostpopular answer was price, so a reasonable price range shouldn’t be too high to put people off. does the design influence your purchase? yes no sometimesMost people said yes the design does influence their purchase, so the design and compositionelements of the front cover, contents and double page spread should look professional as possible, capturing attention and making the information look trustworthy for people to buy the product.
