      • with fellow students in school, and dealing with his severely

      • Tyler has a label put on him as this bad person and that’s something he can’t shake off because of the situations he’s consistently being put into.
      • Suicide / depression ( because of home life and school issues )
    6. Teen Depression / Suicide
      • I believe a huge issue Tyler faces is teen depression / suicide.
      • Who's At Risk for Teen Depression? Every teen is at risk in developing major teen depression, but there are certain groups of individuals that are more prone to this type of disorder.
      • - Females are more likely to develop adolescent depression than males (about 2x more often)
      • - Children that have or have had long-term/chronic illnesses
      • - Teens that have a family history of depression
      • - Teens with family disruptions at home (divorce, death in family, etc)
        • - Sadness or hopelessness
        • - Low self-esteem
        • - Sluggishness (less active)
        • - Substance abuse
        • - Spending more time alone (this includes time alone from you as parents and time away from their regular friends)
        • - Decrease in desire to do things they used to like to do (sports, activities, hobbies)
        • - Physical ailments (headaches, appetite problems, sleeping problems)
        • - Problems in school (falling grades, getting into trouble, not paying attention in class)
        • - Talking about death or suicide (never to be taken lightly)
        • - Not caring about appearance
        • - Running away from home
    7. Sexting
      • - 48% of teens had been involved in sexting, as well as 64% of young adults. And 22% of teens and 28% of young adults admitted to being more forward while sexting than they normally are in everyday situations.
      • - 73% of those surveyed said they knew that sexting could have negative consequences. And they do it anyway. Then there is the 22% that think it is no big deal.
      • -
      • - But cell phones and the Internet are changing this. And instead, college applicants are getting denied
      • college admission because of some indiscretion on MySpace. Or college graduates aren’t getting hired because a friend put some questionable picture up on Facebook. Whole reputations like Logan’s are being shattered because of one little mistake.
      • At least the 83 percent of young adults who have landed in the middle of a sexting situation know better. Many of us have seen a provocative image of a familiar or unfamiliar person
