What is Edmodo?<br />An online learning community where students and teachers can: communicate, share ideas, files and assignments…in the classroom, at home, and wherever there is internet access!<br />
Why Use Edodo?<br />Edmodo is a program that caters to the 21st century interdisciplinary themes, within the new NJCCS , that need to be incorporated into the core subjects.<br />It supplies RSS feeds where students can access and discuss issues of global awareness, civic literacy, financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial literacy, health and environmental literacy.<br /><ul><li>The program is learner-centered and focuses on the main skills of 21 century:</li></ul>Creativity<br />Critical thinking<br />Communication<br />Collaboration<br /><ul><li>It is free, safe and it puts these skills to work, even when class is dismissed! </li></li></ul><li>How Do I Use Edmodo?<br />Edomo is easy to learn, especially for users who are familiar with social networking sites, such as Facebook.<br />To begin, simply visit www.edmodo.com<br />To begin creating your own account, click on “I’m a Teacher” and fill in the brief sign-up questions.<br />Note: You can also take a guided tour of the program by clicking “Tour”<br />
Edmodo: Your Profile<br />Click on “Settings” to personalize and manage your account<br />Create an Online Classroom<br /> Click on “Create” to create a group of your own for your class<br />
Edmodo: Personalizing and Managing a Group<br />By creating a group, you are providing a safe place for students in your class to communicate with you and with each other – inside, or outside of your classroom!<br />To set-up your group:<br /><ul><li>Have your students create a Edmodo account and provide for them the “code” that is assigned to your group
To manage the settings and members of your group:
Drag your mouse over the group name, click and follow the easy-to-use directions. </li></li></ul><li>Other Edmodo functions:<br />Use the Gradebook to insert the grades of students so they can access their progress online! <br />Type a note to your students that they can respond to!<br />Connect with other educators!<br />Use the Calendar feature to keep track of due dates and other important dates!<br />Share links, feeds, files, assignments or create polls to share with your students by using these functions!<br />
Take your class to the 21st century level by incorporating Edmodo, an easy-to-use, interactive Web 2.0 tool.<br />
