• *Who : Who is involved?
*What : What do I want to accomplish?
*Where : Identify a location.
*When : Establish a time frame.
*Which : Identify requirements and
constraints.
*Why : Specific reasons, purpose or benefits
of accomplishing the goal.
• EXAMPLE: A general goal would be, “Get in
shape.” But a specific goal would say, “Join a
health club and workout 3 days a week.”
13. Realistic
• A realistic goal can answer yes to these
questions:
• Does this seem worthwhile?
• Is this the right time?
• Does this match our other efforts/needs?
• Are you the right person?

• Enough time to achieve the goal, is there a
time limit
• Not too much time, which can affect work
performance

• A time-bound goal will usually answer the
question:
• When?
• What can I do 6 months from now?
• What can I do 6 weeks from now?
• What can I do today?
