    Community Building - Presentation Transcript

    1. Summer 2008 Listening & Community Building In just a few slides, we’ll show how blogs and social software can help companies like yours build community spirit.
    2. The Golden Age of Storytelling
      • Thanks to blogs, everyone’s either a producer or a critic
        • Tools today make it easy for anyone to produce and communicate online
        • Also – we are encouraged to give our opinion on just about everything
        • People go online and expect to get your story – if you don’t tell it someone else will
We provide a system for capturing and acting on the stories about you that are told, every day.
    3. Example: “It’s A Dog’s Life” George: I would buy healthier treats over ones that didn’t have vitamins and minerals. . . . I try to look for amino acids and omega 3 and fish oils. Del Monte: What does your dog eat for breakfast? George: . . . she would definitely want bacon and eggs and she would want ketchup on her eggs. She loves ketchup!!! Del Monte: Would you buy more treats if they had vitamins and minerals as ingredients?”
    4. The result? A successful product launch "It is not just a focus group that you see for three hours; you are developing a relationship with these pet parents." - Gala Amoroso, Del Monte's senior manager of consumer insights Source : http://webreprints.djreprints.com/1870400382162.html
    5. Our Vision of Community We design networks of Facebook pages, blogs & support forums based on what your customers want. We simplify the task of wading through millions of online conversations while giving you tools to control spin. All of that information is organized and made accessible via web or phone (text or voice!). We rethink everyday occasions and make them fun. When things feel more connected, it’s a powerful experience. After all, service is having something done for you, as opposed to having something done to you. When you make it easy to explore, people are more likely to have fun and less likely to complain.
    6. Benefits for Communities
      • Instant Value – we help people solve problems or create value with their very first use
      • Viral adoption – no direct sales force required; we build incentives so people bring in their friends and neighbors
      • Minimum IT spend – in fact, no hardware/software at all!
      • Simple, intuitive user experience – no training needed.
      • Personalized user experience – the system adjusts to individual preferences, primary language, location, etc.
      • Easy configuration based on templates.
People want to believe their input means something and is being put to good use.
