  3. 3. Our Hometown<br />There are 17 citiesand counties in Taiwan. <br />Taiwan is known as “Formosa.”<br />We are in CianjhenDistrict of KaohsuingCity.<br />We<br />are<br />here.<br />Caoya is one village in Cianjhen District.<br />Cianjhen District <br />

  7. 7. Introduction<br />The temple was originally <br /> built in 1722. <br />The structure of the temple <br /> now was altered and <br /> repaired several times. <br />It belongs to Taoism.<br />The temple in 1955.<br />

  22. 22. The Origin<br />Long Feng Temple originated <br />in Shan Dong Province of PRC in 1662.<br />In 1974, the statue of the lord goddess was moved to the present address in 1974 and the temple was finished in 1981.<br />It belongs to Taoism. <br />

  26. 26. Bi Xia Yuan Jun<br />Bi Xia Yuan Jun is a respectful name in Taoism.<br />She observes and inspects the good and bad behavior of people.<br />She also blesses and protects people and treats patients.<br />

  40. 40. ★Lantern Festival ☆★<br />On the holiday, people will hold lanterns.<br />The custom originated from Western Han Dynasty (206BC~24AD).<br />
  41. 41. There will be many lanterns hanging in front of the temple. <br />
  42. 42. ★ Ghost Festival★☆<br />There will be many worship activities from July 1 to July 30 in lunar calendar. And July 15 is Ghost Festival.<br />According to the tradition, people can avoid disaster during this month.<br />

  49. 49. Mercy Buddha<br />Mercy Buddha, usually called Guan Yin, is <br />the goddess that people generally worship.<br />She is very<br />propitious and she<br />always relieves <br />misery and calamity<br />among the people.<br />
