  • ( 可以這樣念 )Actually, our Metro System Includes high speed rail, Taipei Metro, bus, and bike. But Taipei Metro is the best way to commute in Taipei.
  • ( 當地圖展開的時候 ) 1.This is our Taipei Metro network. The System started from( 這時才開始按 )brown line( 按一下 ), then red( 按 ), green( 按 ), yellow( 按 ), and blue( 按 ) lines. 2. It can bring you to many scenes( 這時才開始按 ), halls, or monuments such as temples, towers, and museums.
  • The buildings of our metro stations, such as 圓山 and 劍潭 , contain some Chinese architectural elements from the roof( 斷一下 ) to the pillars
  • In my neighborhoods, two of the most famous monuments are 孔廟 & 保安 temple

  • In Chinese, we call it 有教無類

Taipei <ul><li>The City We Live in. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>We have been here for 14 years </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Like the Bianjing in Song Dynasty: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Taipei is one of the most prosperous cites in Taiwan. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>It has… </li></ul><ul><ul><li>12 Districts </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>More than 2,500,000 people </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Heavy Traffic </li></ul></ul>

    8. 8. Confucius Temple <ul><li>It is  devoted to the memory of Confucius. He and his apprentice are considered the sages and philosophers of Confucianism . </li></ul>
    9. 9. Who is Confucius ? <ul><li>One of the greatest mentors and sages in Chinese history. </li></ul><ul><li>He promoted the public education before 400 B.C. </li></ul><ul><li>He emphasized personal and governmental morality, justice and sincerity. </li></ul><ul><li>His philosophical system is developed  to Confucianism. </li></ul>
    10. 10. The most significant proverb is.. <ul><li>“ In education, there is no distinction of classes.” </li></ul>
    11. 11. Li Gate & Yi Path <ul><li>The Li and Yi stands for rites and righteousness in Chinese. </li></ul><ul><li>This is the entrance to the main hall. </li></ul>

The Yi Dance <ul><li>the most solemn sacrificial ritual in ancient China </li></ul><ul><li>The music and poetry in the ritual are to express veneration for the great sage, Confucius. </li></ul><ul><li>Usually, as a show of respect to Confucius, the president will present this ritual. </li></ul>
    13. 13. Baoan Temple <ul><li>保安宮主要供奉保生大帝 </li></ul>
    14. 14. The God of Chinese Medicine <ul><li>This Temple is  devoted to the memory of a traditional Chinese M.D. , named Wu Tao, in the Song Dynasty. </li></ul><ul><li>He cured sick people by medication and acupuncture. </li></ul><ul><li>After he died, people started to worship him. </li></ul><ul><li>In Chinese, Baoan stands for: guarding lives. </li></ul>

Features in Temples.. <ul><li>In Western culture, dragons are horrible, but it’s totally an opposite idea to the Chinese “Long.” </li></ul><ul><li>In Chinese culture, the builder will decorate temples with gods, animals, and Chinese dragons(Long) on the roofs and pillars for blessings. </li></ul>
