The main aim was to:
Develop tools which would assist IS directors and senior managers, as well as senior members of the executive, to understand their current level of maturity in terms of ICT strategy and, crucially, how to develop from one level of maturity to the next.
We considered:
How services are delivered through people, technology and the deployment of finances.
How structures, policies and decision making directs and control the investment in information systems

Strategic ICT Savvy …… ..the factors that measure an individual’s disposition to and engagement with Strategic ICT

Key questions included:
Who is empowered to make strategic decisions about ICT?
What constitutes ‘world class’ performance in terms of strategic level agility?
How do you manage centrally and locally defined needs?
How is the senior teams vision translated into institutional strategies, including IS strategy?
How does/could your institution achieve service alignment to institutional strategy and vision?

How do we develop our people?
How are CIO’s/IS directors developed in your organisation?
Existing CIO/IS director skills and expertise – where are the gaps?
With whom does technology literacy reside amongst your senior team members?
How do/could you create an awareness of business needs at the IS team level?
How are lessons learnt from projects shared in your institution?
