Brazilian Pact for the Eradication of Slave Labor The Brazilian Pact for the Eradication of Slave Labor, launched in 2005, works to implement tools so that the corporate sector and civil society stop purchasing products from suppliers that have made use of slave labor. Since the Brazilian Pact began, more than 150 companies and associations, both domestic (Brazilian) and international have signed the agreement helping to change the way of doing business in Brazil. www.pactonacional.com.br

Brazilian Pact for the Eradication of Slave Labor The private sector benefits because companies have gained instruments to maintain their activities far from suppliers that use slaves - and, due to that, have avoided sanctions from consumers in case of non-compliance to the agreement. But the main beneficiaries are all the rural workers from Brazil: the Pact has made bad employers think twice before exploring laborers because they can lose sales by doing that. www.pactonacional.com.br
