Lithuania 1 Lithuania 1 Presentation Transcript

  •  Lithuania has unique nature unspoilt by endless industry, which makes rural tourism very popular among the Lithuanians. The largest Lithuanian river is the Nemunas. There are nearly 4.500 lakes and pound The annual temperature is about +6,2 C.
  •  Vilnius
  •  There are no high mountains in Lithuania. However, much of the landscape is decorated with mounds.
  •  Students worked in multinational teams which got the maps of town and tasks and explored different places in town
  •  Trakai is important to the history of Lithuania as it was the second capital of Lithuania. The most prominent building is the Island Castle – in Gothic and German-style defensive castle.
  •  We had an educational lesson about bread and flax. We learned how to make Lithuanian bread.
  •  We had an educational lesson on making candles. It was very interesting.
  •  Quiz for students and teachers „How well do you know your partner schools, countries and their languages?“ Song evening. We were dancing, singing all together ;)
  •  In 1361 Kaunas castle became a centre of trade and at that time the heartbeat of the city moved from the Castle to the Town Hall and the surrounding area. Out of the three remaining town halls in Lithuania, Kaunas has the most luxurious one. Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is the biggest gothic-style chutch in Lithuania.
  •  One of the main features at the foot of castke complex is the Cathedral- Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Ladislaus built in 1251.
