french car brand called Darrac so the first
name of Alfa Romeo was Darrac Italian
Company of cars.
In 1920 Nicola Romeo founded a new car
company using the factories of Darrac, in fact
the general president of Darrac decided to
sell his factories to Alfa Romeo.
During the second world war Alfa Romeo
produced military vehicles and weapons for
the german and Italian army. When the war
ended and the comunist party took the
power, Alfa Romeo stop es his production
During 5 years.
In the year 2004 Alfa Romeo was bought by
the international company Fiat.

He was borned in 1876 in Nápoles and
he dead in Como in 1938.
In 1920 he founded a new car
company called Alfa Romeo. Before
he was the director of the Darrac
Italian Company.
During the first world war he

producing weapons.

and he had 7 sons.

that the automaker suffered large
operating losses in the mid-2000s -

percent of annual revenues, or about
300 million to 500 million euros a year.

significantly lower than Fiat CEO
Marchionne's global sales target of
300,000. Alfa then wanted to achieve

year. Its medium-term target remains
500,000 units by 2014 including
85,000 from N. American market.
