  • City of Bones pdfTo download now please click the link below.http://amzn.to/Ztux9XOverviewWhen fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in NewYork City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murdercommitted by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishingbizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. Its hard to call thepolice when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there isnothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he aboy?
  • This is Clarys first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated toridding the earth of demons. Its also her first encounter with Jace, aShadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Withintwenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jaces world with a vengeance, when hermother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why woulddemons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And howdid Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clares ferociouslyentertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want toend.ReviewsFifteen-year-old Clary Fray thinks she is just a normal teenager. I mean, ofcourse she is a normal teenage, she lives in Brooklyn with her artist mom, andspends most of her time with her best friend, Simon. One night when Clary andSimon are at a club, Pandemonium, she figures out that she can see people thatnobody else can. Wham! Not so normal, I guess. The people that she can seeare called Shadowhunters. They go around killing demons and such, you knowthe bad guys. Not too soon after Clary makes her big discovery, her mom is kidnaped. Clary isentering this new world pretty much blind, except for the Shadowhunters whichhappen to be three teenagers. Jace, Isabelle and Alec must help Clary to find hermother. It seems that her mother is the only one who knows the whereabouts ofthe Mortal Cup, which can turn other people into Shadowhunters. But the manthat kidnaped Clary’s mother plans to use to cup for evil purposes, of course. SoClary must help figure out where the cup is to rescue her mom, fight to keep herfriendship with Simon and figure out the complicated feelings she has towardJace.Whew! This book was fast-paced and fantastic. I couldn’t stop myself fromturning the pages to see what would happen next. There is a whole world notonly of Shadowhunters but werewolves, vampires. demons, and faeries too!Although, not as to ruin the surprises in the book, I did have a couple thingsfigured out way before they were revealed in the story.I was having a dry season when I decided to pick this book up...I just expectedit to be another tryhard modern fantasy. Man, was I wrong.
  • I loved this book from start to finish. Clary is everything anyone can look for in aFantasy heroine, and more. Shes brave, fierce (and of course oblivous to herincredible beauty), but shes also so refreshingly real. Jace is also verybelievable - so much in fact, that Im sure everyone can name at least threepeople who match his obnoxious ego, arrogant charm and intolerable temper. The pacing of the story was perfect - nothing was too rushed, and none of itseemed to depend on pure convenience. Clarys reactions, thoughts andemotions were very human, and I was happy to finally read a book which didntremind me that it WAS all concocted inside someones head, and that thecharacters had been shaped to fit with the storyline. For once, it seems the plothas been fitted around the character.Cassandra Clare has begun a new era of fantasy. She has, I believe, found thebalance between urban legends and traditional fantasy, so the book is lacking inneither credability or magic. One of the most unique fantasies youll ever read.OMG!!!! The best series Ive ever read!! It has an amazing plot with a bit of atwist that keeps you turning the pages for more. Cassandra Clare is an excellentwriter and really connects you to each character. I felt like I was there in everyscene feeling what they felt, experiencing every battle. I couldnt help but falldeeply in love with Jace. And of course Clary, shes awesome! I loved Isabelleand Alec and Simon and Luke. You became part of their world, scary butadventurous and exciting. So all you haters out there, if you havent read the book dont judge. Read it,even the first chapter. It will suck you in like quicksand!!!City of Bones was an exciting, UF book, even if it was a bit long-winded at times. The story centers around Clarey, a seemingly normal girl in NYC who getsinvolved with a group of Shadowhunters. Shadowhunters are the group thathunts and destroys demons that are breaking the Claves (the supernaturalworlds power structure)rules. My first problem with this book occurs here. OnceClarey finds out about this supernatural world, she doesnt really question it. Idbe freaking out. Shes all - whatevs. The action gets going quickly. Someone breaks into Clareys apartment, hermother disappears, her close family friend doesnt want anything to do with her,and she falls in with a group of teenage Shadowhunters, including the brother
  • and sister combo of Isabelle and Alec, and the gorgeous, cocky, yet vulnerable,Jace. The following adventures in this book surround finding information out forClarey about her past (she finds out why she can see throgh glamour) andlocating her missing mother. The ending is a shocker, but I wouldnt call it a cliffhanger. Another thing I was shocked by was the betrayal of the group by atrusted friend. I didnt see that one coming.Clarey is a strong girl. Altough I question some of her choices and reactions, sheis just trying to keep herself together amidst all these revelations about her andher family. She is certainly brave, if nothing else.Jace is cocky, yet charming. He acts like a tough guy, but is vulnerableunderneath it all. He has golden hair and eyes. Hes loyal and protective, andimmediately takes a liking to Clarey. There is romantic tension between thesetwo, and a very sweet greenhouse scene. I was sold on this couple after thegreenhouse. Really. I was.Isabelle acts like a bitch for most of this book, but you can tell that shes a veryloyal girl with some very teen age reactions. Shes not nice to Clarey at firstbecause shes jealous - shes been the only belle at the ball for a long time now.Although she is bitchy, you can tell that Isabelle is loyal to those whom shecares for, and is willing to do anything to protect them. By the end of this book,I think Isabelle and Clarey are on much better terms.Isabelles brother, Alec, is an interesting one. He begins the story by hatingClarey. Not being jealous or disliking, but he has flat-out venomous feelingstowards Clarey, which we find out about later in this book. Alec seems to softenby the end of this book, too, and I look forward to reading more about him inthe future.City of Bones is a wonderful start to The Mortal Instruments series by CassandraClare. It is a story about love, deception, betrayal, family, and friendship. Iremember the first time I tried to read it, I wasnt able to get into the story linebecause I didnt think the plot was interesting. But thankfully, The ClockworkAngel changed all of that for me and I guess this is where it all began. Im trulylooking forward to reading more of Cassandra Clares books and finding out howthe Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments series are connected.
  • The story itself, is about a teenage girl named Clary Fray who is unsure of heridentity in the world ever since she discovers that she is a Shadowhunter andwho her real father is. Eventually, she is thrust into a world of Nephilim-- theShadowhunters, the Downworlders-- werewolves, vampires, faeries, and evendemons. But her life soon takes a turn for the worse, when she finds out thather mother was attacked by a demon and is rescued by a Shadowhunter named,Jace Wayland. I have to admit that the beginning was slow, but the author soonpicks up the pace after Clary wakes up to find herself inside of the Institutewhere the Shadowhunters resides and meets Isabelle, Alex, and Jace. From thevery beginning, I always knew that there was something special about Jace. Heoddly reminds me of Will Herondale from The Clockwork Angel... so that must bea BIG clue as to who his parents are later in the books. Ill just have to wait andfind out!Lets take a deeper look on the characters of The Mortal Instruments series, shallwe? Clary Fray is not only a tough heroine but she is also full of wit andbackbone. Shes not afraid to talk back to Jace and I absolutely love thechemistry between the two. Jace believes that she is beautiful, even if shedoesnt know it, and I think that is the reason why he is attracted to her. As forJace Wayland himself, he is sexy, sarcastic, and I have to say, a very intriguingcharacter. And the ending of the book, holy cow. Another big betrayal anddeception coming from the one and only Valentine. I never would have guessedit but I definitely refuse to believe that is true!To sum up this review, this series has earned a place on my pedestal of booksand Im truly looking forward to reading more of these books. I cant believe Iwaited this long to start this series but hey, its better late than never!I bought this book on Monday before I was leaving to go to TwiCon in Dallas onThursday. I sat down to look at it for a few minutes and before I knew it hourshad passed and I HAD to finish it. I didnt have time to read that week, but thisbook just drew me in. As I learned about the world of Shadowhunters, I also wasintrigued by the characters and discovered that world along with red-hairedClary whose mother had been kidnapped. Thrust into a world of strangers whowere definitely not as they seemed and sharing some of that with her long timefriend, Simon, she finds danger and intrigue. Blond golden eyed Jace irritatesher but attracts her too. She realizes he and his step brother and sister are theonly link to finding her mother. This is a story of not only Shadowhunters butvampires, werewolves, faeries, demons. It brought me to one of my favoriteseries I have ever read.
  • If I have a favorite book hero in all the books I have read, it is Jace. He is cockyand wild but with a past that haunts him....the beautiful dangerous golden boywarrior. The love story in this books is disturbing and the epitome of forbiddenlove. As everyone who has read these books always tells those first reading Cityof Bones.....just keep reading.PS added 11/2010 The audio CD is awesome!I just finished my third time of reading this book and loved it all over again. Andjust found out my granddaughter just finished all three for the second time. They are a great re-read!City of Bones by Cassandra Clare is a great book. It takes awhile to get into, butonce you do you cant stop reading. Clary was just an ordinary girl until onenight she witnesses a murder in her favorite nightclub. Three tattooed teenagerskill a mysterious blue haired boy- and shes the only one who can see them. When Clarys mother disappears she is pulled into the world of these threepeople. Theyre Shadowhunters; people who hunt demons. Her mothersdisappearance is linked to this world and Clary is determined to find out how tobring her mother back. Meanwhile she finds herself arguing with Jace, anextremely attractive if annoying Shadowhunter, and growing closer to him, evenas she wonders if she feels more than just friendship for her best friend Simon. This suspenseful novel has everything: magic, self discovery, and a verycomplicated love triangle. The plot is fast paced and the characters welldeveloped. City of Bones keeps you hooked with its shocking twists and turnsuntil the very last page.To download now please click the link below.http://amzn.to/Ztux9X
