  • Baked Beans with Chili Sauce
    • Ingredients
    • 1 ½ cups dried beans
    • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon minced onion
    • 1 1/3 cups chili sauce
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon pepper
    • 2 slices salt pork (or bacon)
    • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • Baked Beans with Chili Sauce
    • Soak beans overnight.
    • Drain them, add soda.
    • Cover with fresh water.
    • Bring to boiling point.
    • Cook 5 minutes.
    • Turn into deep baking dish.
    • Add seasonings and molasses.

    • Lay slices of salt pork or bacon over top.
    • Cut into dice and mix with beans.
    • Pour Chili sauce over all.
    • Add water to barely cover.
    • Bake at 325 – 350 degrees for 3 hours.
