November 25th, 20121 Thessalonians 5:14A Call to Encourage
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in allcircumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
11 Foryou know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, 12 , comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.
17 After that, we who are still alive andare left will be caught up together withthem in the clouds to meet the Lord inthe air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore one another with these words.
11 Therefore oneanother and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, thedisheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
Greek word: parakaleo “To call alongside” “Come alongside someone who isunder pressure to give them strength”
“Biblical encouragement communicates God’s truth and hope in ways that personally strengthen others to follow God’s will for their lives.”
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all , 4 who us in all ourtroubles, so that we can those in any trouble with the we ourselves receive from God.
16 And I will ask the Father, and he willgive you another to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knowshim. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
5 For when we came into Macedonia, wehad no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. 6 But God, who thedowncast, us by the coming of Titus,7 and not only by his coming but alsoby the you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deepsorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.
29 Do not let any unwholesome talkcome out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building othersup according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Therefore if you have any encouragement frombeing united with Christ, if any comfort from hislove, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your owninterests but each of you to the interests of theothers. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus…

24 Andlet us consider how we may spurone another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit ofdoing, but—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
