  2. 2. Staff Development PlanDuring week 3, I interviewed several stakeholders and discovered that our campus is prettyefficient at using technology equipment during instruction (i.e. Curriculum on Wheels, documentcameras, promethean boards, Unitedstreaming). Teachers are becoming more and more opento its use in the classroom; especially after seeing the impact using technology has on studentmotivation and performance. However, one thing that I did realize that many teachers wereunaware of is how to use a new program called AWARE that our district has adopted. Beingable to fully utilize AWARE puts a plethora of information at our teacher’s fingertips. Teacherscan pull up information on student demographics, current and historical TAKS scores,Curriculum Based Assessment scores, intervention information, and student specific information(i.e. at-risk, GT, Sped, etc.). Therefore, I believe a teacher training in AWARE would be verybeneficial to all teachers. The following is my idea for staff development in using AWARE:Session Purpose: Help teachers become familiar with AWARE program and it’s uses.Learning Objectives to Be Addressed: Teachers will be able to use AWARE to: researchcurrent and historical TAKS scores, Curriculum Based Assessment scores, demographicinformation, student specific information (i.e. At-risk, GT, Sped, etc.), and interventioninformation.Grade Level: Facilitator: Location: Start Time: 3:30 End-Time: 4:306-8 Colencia Reed LibraryLearner-Centered Purpose Description Steps Estimated Time ActivityIntroduction To familiarize Brief video 1.Facilitator will 5 minutes staff with the about AWARE show a brief AWARE video provided program by the district of what other pilot schools have said about aware

  4. 4. Sharing Teachers gain Teachers share 1.Teachers 15 minutes insight for each their thoughts report to small other and ideas with a group to share small group their findings 2.Facilitator leads group discussion on how information found in AWARE can assist teachers in preparing, adjusting, and re-teaching lessons 3.Ideas are written on a large post-it note and hung in the library for displayEvaluation Get feedback Teachers 1. Facilitator 5 minutes about the staff complete a distributes development survey about the surveys to and whether it presentation teachers was useful 2. Teachers complete the surveys and return themAction PlanGoal: All teachers and students will use technology effectively to engage in teaching, learning, and communicating. Objective: Motivate teachers to use technology in instruction and provide students withaccess to increase student performance in all areas.Target Group(s): Teachers, students, & parentsActivity/ Strategy Person(s) Timeline Resources/Estimated Formative (Include 3) Responsible Cost EvaluationProvide each Principal- March Provided that 95% of All teachers andteacher with a Paula Sword 2011- teachers already have students shouldpromethean board, March access to all have equal
