The Bachelor Challenge is almost over! We’re down to two lovely bachelore:es: Lulu Buccaneer and Elaine Goodytwoshoes. Who’s going to win? Let’s find out!
“Down to Elaine and Lulu,” Arthur remarked. “Yeah. Is there any point in playing out today, though?” Sabriel asked. “Elaine’s got a big lead.” “But no one’s in love yet. The challenge is about Will finding someone to be in love with.” Sabriel didn’t say anything for a while.
“It’s about Will finding love,” she said to Arthur. “Not me.” “But I—” “Why’s it so important to you that I have a relaPonship with someone, anyway?”
“But I’m not alone,” Sabriel said. “Not in any way that ma:ers.” “Even without anyone who loves you?” “You’re not telling me that I’m going to lose you aQer you get married, are you?”
“Of course not.” “Good. Then as long as I have you, and Will, and anyone else who might be worth making friends with, I won’t be alone.”
Just then, Lily returned. “We’re going to need to rethink this whole daPng thing,” she said to Arthur and Sabriel. “What happened?” Arthur asked. “My date drop from the gypsy matchmaker was gay. I’d say that we should just switch guys, Arthur, but I don’t think he was right for you either.”
“So then what?” Sabriel asked, hoping everyone would stop badgering her already. “Now, the last day of the challenge starts. You get to have a li:le input here. You can go tell Will what you think about the final two so that he makes up his mind. AQer he picks someone, we’ll sort out the whole party planning and daPng business.”
AQer Sara’s eliminaPon, Lulu grabbed Will’s a:enPon by congratulaPng him on being hot.
Will appreciated the a:enPon, but right now, the Pme had come to ask for advice about whom to choose.
“It’s almost Pme to choose, but I don’t want to choose wrong,” Will explained to Arthur and Sabriel. “You’ve been watching this whole thing on the TV with Lily. Do you have any insight?”
“Honestly, I don’t,” Arthur said. “The only bad apple in the whole bunch was Marielle, and you sent her home on day two. Elaine and Lulu are both great. I like one of them be:er.”
“Who?” “I’m not going to tell you.” “Why not?” Will asked. “Why did you even come if you’re not going to help?”
“Because this isn’t about who I would pick,” Arthur said. “It’s about you. You get to pick someone you’d be happy with.”
CONFESSIONAL!!!1! from Lulu: The challenge is almost over. Either way, I can tell you that I’ll be glad to be out of these cameras’ reach. As interesBng as this has been, I don’t need to be under constant scruBny for this long.
Will found Sabriel staring at the pool table. “How does this thing work?” she asked.
“I don’t know. Lilah tried to explain it to me on the first day, but I haven’t really played since. Do you have any words of wisdom?”
Sabriel looked at her hands. “Personally, I like Lulu be:er. It’d be good if you were with someone more pracPcal than you.” “So you think I should choose her?” “I didn’t say that. You’ve spent five whole days with both these women. I’ve just been watching on the television feed. I don’t have to pick between them. This isn’t my challenge.”
“Well, at least you’ve been a li:le more helpful than Arthur.” Will turned away. “Thanks. I think.”
Luckily, Elaine and Lulu were geng along pre:y well. Will didn’t want to deal with another Lilah‐and‐Faye scenario.
“What are you planning to do once this is all over?” Elaine asked.
“Probably take one of you on that honeymoon to Twikkii Island,” Will answered. “AQer that? Knowing Lily, she’ll want me to have a baby. And then, I guess it’s just…living. With no restricPons or anything.” What was that going to be like?
“What about back home?” Lulu asked. “Would one of us be going back with you?”
Will thought about it. “I don’t know,” he said. “I’d have to talk it over with Lily. If I wasn’t married over there, it’d be easy. But I’d rather focus on being here right now.”
To counteract an onset of angst, Will took the opportunity to splash Elaine.
AQer geng out of the hot tub and changing into regular clothes, Elaine’s stalking conPnued.
Unfortunately for Lulu, she had to go eat. She didn’t look very happy about that, chewing on her salad as quickly as her many neat points would allow.
They finished up their pillow fight and played a game of punch you‐punch me before Elaine had to go do her confessional and everyone changed into formal wear for that night’s main event.
CONFESSIONAL!!!1! from Elaine: Five bacheloreDes down. One to go. I can win this.
That evening’s main event was slow dancing. Will climbed the stairs to the third‐story ballroom, built specifically for this part of the challenge. Maybe he could have dressed up more, he thought, but he didn’t care. Suits weren’t really his style.
Elaine came upstairs first, wearing her everyday dress. It might be everyday to Elaine, but Will sPll thought it was more than formal enough. “You look great, as usual,” Will said to her. “Want to dance?”
Will took Elaine’s hand in his. Either he was a be:er dancer than he had expected, or it just wasn’t that hard to dance in circles.
“Wait.” From the observaBon house, Lily leaned forward. “Is that…” “Is that what?” Sabriel said.
“It is! He twirled her!” Lily was clapping. “This is the cutest thing ever! Maybe not as cute as the two of you when you were toddlers—no. This is the cutest thing ever. I’ve never seen a slow dance twirl before! And everybody knows that slow dance twirls mean true love!” She paused and looked at them. “Do either of you have any idea what I’m talking about?” “No,” Sabriel said. “There are a lot of things that do mean true love, but I don’t think just twirling someone is on the list,” Arthur added.
“I’m really glad I did this,” Elaine said, resPng her head on Will’s shoulder. “This past week has been so much fun.”
“It’s been fun for me, too.” Without thinking very much about whether his dancing skills were up to it, Will dipped Elaine and gave her a kiss.
“More than just fun,” he added aQer bringing her up. Will couldn’t stop smiling. “I—I’m falling in love with you, Elaine.”
As night fell, she returned his smile. “I’m falling in love with you, too.”
Not long aQer that, Elaine had to leave, and Lulu came up to the ballroom wearing a more modern pink party dress. She accepted Will’s invitaPon to dance.
They spun around the room for a li:le while. Unfortunately for Lily, though, Will did not twirl Lulu.
He rested his head on Lulu’s shoulder and smiled, but didn’t say anything. Will knew he liked Lulu, and he enjoyed spending Pme with her. But did he feel the same way about her as the way he felt about Elaine?
A kiss and a dip later did nothing to answer that quesPon.
“I’m glad you’re here ,” Will said to Lulu, a big smile on his face. “I wish I didn’t have to choose at all.”
“I don’t want you to have to choose, either.” With every day that went by, Lulu cared more and more about staying.
CONFESSIONAL!!!1! from Will: I know who I’m going to choose now! Except if I fall in love with Lulu tomorrow. Then it’s going to be hard again. But I don’t know how I could choose anyone but Elaine right now.
“Good morning!” Lulu greeted Will. “Morning! How’s the book?” “Not as much fun now that the rest of the book club has been eliminated, but sPll really funny.”
“You’re hot.” “Thanks.” Will smiled a bit bigger that morning. “I need to eat. Maybe I need coffee, too.”
AQer watching Will eat, Elaine made sure she was the first one upstairs for the final makeout.
Lulu came up aQer her. Even though it would make his choice a lot harder, Will hoped that he would fall in love with Lulu. But he sPll didn’t feel anything different for her aQer she leQ.
“It looks like you’re going to win,” Lulu said to Elaine over darts. “CongratulaPons.”
“Thanks,” Elaine said. “Anything could sPll happen, though.”
Lulu turned around and saw Will, who had just come down the stairs. She also saw that his eyes were on Elaine. “No, it won’t,” she said.
Instead of taking any more opportuniPes to socialize, Will was a:empPng to make sense of the pool table one more Pme.
“You—are you okay with it?” Elaine asked. “Of course I am.” Lulu smiled. “There’s no use in loving someone who doesn’t love me back.”
They conPnued in that vein unPl noon. Will played pool, and Lulu and Elaine played darts.
But at exactly twelve o’clock, Lulu walked up to Will and congratulated him. “You and Elaine are going to be happy together,” she said.
We have a winner! That means it’s celebratory out‐of‐sync glitchy smustle Pme! Final scores— Elaine: 187 (100/87), both in love Lulu: 177 (100/77), Lulu in love
“And that means it’s party Pme!” Arthur said. “Where I am not going on a date,” Sabriel insisted.
“No, you’re not,” Lily agreed. “If you don’t want a date, you don’t have to have a date. I’m not going to bring a date, either. If you’re not interested in anyone, then you’re not interested in anyone.” “But don’t you have a daughter in another universe?” Arthur asked. “She must have been immaculately conceived,” Lily mu:ered.
“Anyway, you are geng a date, Arthur,” Lily conPnued. “I made sure you’d get a good guy. And other than that, the party planning is up to you. Invite who you want. Get whatever acPviPes you want. Plan whatever punishment for Marielle you want. There should be plenty of money, but if there isn’t, I’ll make sure there is. Ready?” “Ready.” Arthur grinned. “Oh, and you might want to dress nicely, Arthur,” Lily suggested.
Arthur did dress nicely. On the other hand, some wires seemed to have been crossed, considering his date’s casual wear.
His name was Robert Austen, and he liked to insist that he was mean. Arthur conPnued to laugh and smile.
Lily brought people in for a quick toast to the new couple.
Lilah wasted no Pme trying to proposiPon Sabriel. Sabriel was not game. “Well, if you ever change your mind, you know who to call.”
Of course, her favorite target, Faye, was at the party. So Lilah went aQer her. “Mag, did you bring the popcorn?” Will’s half brother Ferdinand asked his twin as they looked on. “Of course, Ferd.”
Sabriel went to talk to Lulu and let her know that she had supported her. “Thanks, but I’m really fine with not winning,” Lulu said. “I might not be ready to be Ped down yet, anyway.”
Meanwhile, Rhapsody and Sara vanished for most of the party in an epic water balloon fight reminiscent of their game of catch on the first day of the challenge.
“Have you ever considered that maybe all you and Faye need is a trip to the hot tub?” Lily suggested to Lilah.
Faye listened in. She did not like what she was hearing.
As people started to consider pairing off and Ferd and Mag started a fire outside, Sabriel sat by the computer. She might have outgoing points, but a party like this really wasn’t her style. She needed to plot.
“I noPce someone wasn’t invited,” Lily commented as she entered the room. “That was intenPonal?”
“Yeah. Marielle Hutchins is not worth my Pme right now.” Sabriel rolled her eyes. “It might have been fun to get into a fight with her, but I’ve got to pick my ba:les. And you know I have bigger fish to fry. Maybe it’s enough of a punishment for her to know she wasn’t invited, anyway.”
Lily nodded and leQ the room so she could approvingly look on at Robert and Arthur flirPng. This had appeared to be a difficult set‐up at first given their conflicPng aspiraPons, but it seemed to be working out quite nicely.
The same went for Lilah and Faye, who had managed to work out their differences.
As the party wrapped up, Will went to talk to Lily. “Do you think there’s any chance I could be with Elaine back home?” he asked. “I know I’m married to Jan, but…I love Elaine. I think I loved Elaine as soon as this challenge started. Is there any way?”
Lily pondered the quesPon. “On one level, there’s a lot to consider,” she said. “You are married, and you have fi—four daughters. You’re in a challenge where you can’t move anyone in except the official spouse, who is Jan. And Elaine is a Goodytwoshoes, so her family has certain standards. “But on another level, it’s very simple: What do you want it to be? I haven’t made any decisions for you. I won’t make this one for you, either.”
AQer the party, Will and Elaine went on their Twikkii Island vacaPon. They got married through liberal usage of cheats to avoid triggering Romance Sim fears.
They made the occasional effort to experience the sights and acPviPes that the island had to offer.
“Hang Loose? I’ve never done that in…eh, whatever.”
But they didn’t care about much of anything that wasn’t being with each other.
In fact, they spent the enPre last day of their vacaPon in their hotel room. Elaine didn’t feel up to going out, and Will certainly wasn’t going to force her to go sightseeing when he wasn’t all that interested in it himself.
(Perhaps the events in the sauna had something to do with Elaine’s weariness.)
Once they came home, it was Pme for every couple from the challenge to have babies, because what’s a challenge about pairing people off if toddlers don’t result? This is Arthur and Robert’s baby, Albus. Personality: 5/8/3/10/2 (Taurus).
Lilah and Faye also had a baby, whom they named Hester. Personality: 6/5/10/3/7 (Pisces)
And Will and Elaine have two adorable girls! Will is never going to have any sons. Good thing he chose someone who could care less about having sons. This is Ophelia Goodytwoshoes (9/3/9/6/5, Virgo).
Will is holding Psyche. She’s a Scorpio (9/8/9/7/1). And whether or not Will ends up with Elaine in his home universe or not, I know he’s going to be very happy in this one.
