  12. Focus on connection and givingvalue
  13. Imagine your success usingvisualization and positive self-talk
  14. Check your posture, body languageand eye contact
  15. 3. Never apologize
  16. So what if you’re inexperienced?Everyone starts somewhere.
  17. So what if you’re nervous? Everyonegets nervous.
  18. So what if you make a mistake?Everyone makes mistakes.
  19. Here are three challenges to buildyour confidence muscles
  20. 1. Make eye contact
  21. Hint: Smile
  22. If that’s easy, make eye contact andmake a comment Your dog is cute.
  23. If that’s easy, make a comment orask a question Your dog is cute. What’s her name?
  24. 2. Be present
  25. In class, give the teacher your fullattention
  26. When youre in a conversation, listenand hear what the other is saying
  27. Listen and hear what youre saying Hello? Hello? Is anybody listening?
  28. 3. Speak up
  29. Remember your courage
  30. Plan ahead to ask a question ormake a comment 1. Ask a question 2. Make a e t c o m mn ne a n d 3. Ri s repeat
  31. Make opportunities to speak
  32. If you don’t haveopportunities tospeak, make them
