  • 1. Reductions to Freshmen Athletic Scheduling and Athletic Transportation
    CNUSD School Board Presentation
    March 16, 2010
  • 2. Reductions to Freshmen Athletic Scheduling and Athletic Transportation
    • Elimination of all Non-League, cost incurring contests
    • 3. Frosh Boys and Girls Basketball, Baseball, and Softball games would be played in a “double-header” format on Saturdays
    • 4. Elimination of in-district bussing of Frosh teams when games begin after the close of the school day (push back start times to 4:30 when possible)
    • 5. When bussing is necessary, teams would stagger start times, thus allowing for “shuttle runs” instead of multiple buses
    • 6. When possible, same season sports would share bussing (Track and Swim)
  • Reductions to Freshmen Athletic Scheduling and Athletic Transportation (continued):
    • Proposal introduced to Superintendent’s Budget Advisory Committee by CNUSD Athletic Directors
    • 7. Supported by all 8 Big VIII schools
    • 8. “Conservative” savings of approximately $150,000
    • 9. Parent support for more flexible scheduling
    • 10. Principal and teacher support for less time out of class for athletic contests
