Please note that each content pack may have prerequisites and/or post-installation procedures.<br />You must install the content packs in the following order<br />
      • Contoso K12 BI Content Pack 1.0.0
      • SharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Intranet Demo 1.0.0
      • People Pack - User Profile & My Site Provisioning 1.0.9
      • SharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Extranet Demo 1.0.0
      • SharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Public Internet Demo 1.0.0
      • Contoso University BI Content Pack 1.0.0
      • SharePoint 2010 Contoso University Intranet Demo 1.0.0
      • SharePoint 2010 Contoso University Extranet Demo 1.0.0
      • SharePoint 2010 Contoso University Public Internet Demo 1.0.0
      Prerequisites<br />To install these content packs you must be running <br />
      • Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Server 2010
      • Microsoft SQL Server2008 R2.
      Pre-installation<br />Edit HOSTS file<br />Before installing the content packs, add entries for each site to the HOSTS file of the SharePoint server. Here’s an example of what it should look like:<br />Set PowerShell Execution Policy<br />
      • Log onto the server using the administrator account
      • Open a PowerShell console and then type Get-ExecutionPolicy. Record the result
      • Type Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted.
      Establish Trust between SharePoint and Live@edu<br />There are two steps involved in establishing a trust relationship between SharePoint and Live@edu:<br />Step 1: Export the "GTE CyberTrust Global Root" root certificate <br />Follow these steps to export the root certificate required by Live@edu Web Parts.<br />1.Open Microsoft Management Console (click Start > Run and type mmc, then press Enter).2.In the console root window, open the File menu and select the Add/Remove Snap-in option. 3.In the Add or Remove Snap-ins window, select Certificates in the Available snap-ins pane, and click Add.4.In the Certificates snap-in window, select the Computer account option and click Finish. 5.In the Select Computer window, select the Local Computer option and click Finish. 6.In the Add or Remove Snap-ins window, click Ok. 7.In the console root window, expand the Certificates node, expand the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder, and click Certificates in the left menu pane.8.Right-click on the GTE CyberTrust Global Root certificate (in the center pane) and select the All Tasks > Export option.9.In the Certificate Export Wizard window, click Next.10.On the Export File Format page, select the Base-64 encoded X.509(.CER) option and click Next.11.On the File to Export page, call the file outlook_live.cer and specify the location for the certificate. Click Next. 12.On the Completing the Certificate Export Wizard page, click Finish.13.Click Ok in the export confirmation dialog box.<br />Step 2: Create a Trust Relationship in SharePoint using the "GTE CyberTrust Global Root" root certificate <br />Follow these steps to create a new trust relationship.<br />
      • Go to Central Admin, click Security, then click Manage Trust. The Trusts Relationships page will display.
      • Click New. The Establish Trust Relationship dialog box will display:
      • Enter outlook live in the Name field.
      • Click the Browse button next to the Root Authority Certificate field, then select the outlook_live.cer file.
      • Click OK.
      Set up Windows Live Single Sign On Service<br />Follow the instructions listed in REF _Ref265536907 * MERGEFORMAT Appendix A: Installing the Windows Live Single Sign On Service. You may download the service installer from the Live@edu site.<br />Post-installation<br />After you have installed the content packs, you must perform the following actions:<br />
      • Set up and run search crawls
      • Reset PowerShell Execution Policy
      • Ensure users have permission to access databases needed by external content types
      Set up search crawls<br />Follow the instructions listed in REF _Ref266192335 h * MERGEFORMAT Appendix C: Set Up Search Crawls <br />Reset PowerShell Execution Policy<br />Open a PowerShell console and then type Set-ExecutionPolicy [the name of the execution policy prior to install]<br />Ensure users have permission to access databases needed by external content types<br />
      • Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the database server
      • Expand the Security folder. The following page will display
      • If the BUILTINUsers group is not present, add the group by following these steps:
      • Right-click the Logins folder, then select New Login. The Login - New dialog box will display:
      • Click Search. The Select User or Group dialog box will display:
      • Search for BUILTINUsers, then click OK. You will return to the Login – New dialog box.
      • Click Server Roles. The following dialog box will display:
      • Select public and sysadmin, then click OK.
      Installing the Contoso K12 BI Content Pack<br />Prerequisites<br />
      • The Claims to Windows Token Service application must be installed and running. To do this, please follow these steps:
      • Go to the Central Administration site. Select Manage services in server. You should see the Claims to Windows Token Service application.
      • If it is not started, click Start.
      • PerformancePoint service application must be installed and running.
      • Configure PerformancePoint. To do this , please follow these steps:
      • Go to the Central Administration site. Select Manage Service Applications
      • Select PerformancePoint Service Application.
      • Enter Secure Store Service in the Secure Store Service Application text box.
      • Enter the unattended service account in the Unattended Service Account text box.
      • Select Enable Content.
      • Click OK.
      Installation<br />
      • Log onto the server using the Administrator account
      • Run the Content Pack installer.
      • Click Browse. Find the Contoso K12 BI Content Pack.zip file, then click OK.
      • Click Add to add the content pack.
      • Leave the installer open, then open Windows Explorer. Navigate to C:Content PacksPacksContoso K12 BI Content Pack 1.0.0.
      • For each PowerShell script, perform the following actions:
      • Right-click the PowerShell script, and select Properties. The Properties window will display.
      • If you see an Unblock button, click it.
      • After ensuring all PowerShell scripts are unblocked, go back to the Content pack installer and click Content Packs.
      • Select Contoso BI Content Pack, then click Install. The Install Path dialog box will display.
      • Type http://intranet.contoso.edu, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display.
      • Enter the domain and user ID for the application pool account when prompted, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display again. Click Advanced to see more installation details.
      Post-installation<br />Install PowerPivot for Excel 2010. This application is not needed for the installation, but is critical to the functioning of some of the BI documents. You can download the most recent version at http://www.powerpivot.com/download.aspx. <br />Installing the SharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Intranet Demo 1.0.0 Content Pack<br />Prerequisites<br />
      • The Contoso K12 BI Content Pack must be installed.
      • You must log on as Todd Rowe and Arlene Huff at least once so that Favorites can be added. Once you have logged on, log off and log back in as the Administrator.
      Installation<br />
      • Log onto the server using the Administrator account
      • Run the Content Pack installer
      • Click Browse. Find the Contoso K-12 Intranet Demo.zip file, then click OK.
      • Click Add to add the content pack.
      • Leave the installer open, then open Windows Explorer. Navigate to C:Content PacksPacksSharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Intranet Demo 1.0.0.
      • For each PowerShell script, perform the following actions:
      • Right-click the PowerShell script, and select Properties. The Properties window will display.
      • If you see an Unblock button, click it.
      • After ensuring all PowerShell scripts are unblocked, go back to the Content pack installer and click Content Packs.
      • Select SharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Intranet Dem, then click Install. The Install Path dialog box will display.
      • Type http://intranet.contoso.edu, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display.Also, the following input box will display:
      • Enter the domain and user ID for the application pool account, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display again.Click Advanced to see more installation details.
      Post-installation<br />If a MySite host already exists on the server, please skip this post-installation step. <br />If no MySite host exists on the server, you must create one. To do so, please perform the following actions:<br />Define managed paths<br />
      • On the Application Management page, in the Web Applications section, click Manage web applications
      • Select intranet.contoso.edu, then click the Managed Paths button in the ribbon. The Define Managed Paths page will display
      • Enter my in the Path text box.
      • Select Explicit inclusion from the Type dropdown list.
      • Click OK.
      • Repeat steps 3 through 6, this time using
      • Path: my/personal
      • Type: Wildcard inclusion
      Create a site collection within the Web application for the My Site host location<br />
      • On the Central Administration Web site, in the Application Management section, click Create Site Collection.
      • On the Create Site Collection page, in the Web Application section, in the Web Application menu, change the web application to intranet.contoso.edu.
      • In the Title and Description section, type a title and description for the site collection.
      • In the Web Site Address section, under URL, select my for the site prefix
      • In the Select a template section, click the Enterprise tab, and then click My Site Host.
      • In the Primary Site Collection Administrator section, type an account to use as the primary site collection administrator.
      • In the Secondary Site Collection Administrator section, type an account to use as the secondary site collection administrator.
      • Click OK.
      Set up My Sites<br />
      • On the Central Administration page, under Application Management, click Manage service applications.
      • On the Manage Service Applications page, click the name of the User Profile Service that you want to manage.
      • On the Manage Profile Service page, under My Site Settings, click Setup My Sites.
      • On the My Site Settings page, in the Preferred Search Settings section, in the Preferred Search Center box, enter http://intranet.contoso.edu:80/search/Pages.
      • In the Preferred Search Settings section, select a search scope for finding people and for finding documents.
      • In the My Site Host section, in the My Site Host location box, enter http://intranet.contoso.edu:80/my. This is the URL of the dedicated site collection in which personal sites are hosted.
      • In the Personal Site Location section, enter my/personal.
      • In the Site Naming Format section, select User Name (do not resolve conflicts).
      • In the Language Options section, leave the option unselected.
      • In the Read Permission Level section, enter All Users (windows) and All Authenticated Users.
      • In the My Site E-mail Notifications section, enter administrator@contoso.edu, and click OK.
      Enable self-service site creation<br />
      • Go to the Central Administration site, then click Application Management
      • Click Configure self-service site creation.
      • Change the web application to intranet.contoso.edu.
      • Click the On radio button, then click OK.
      Set permissions for “PhoneSystem” External System and associated external content types <br />
      • Go to the Central Administration site. Select Manage Service Applications
      • Select Business Connectivity Services.
      • In the View section of the ribbon, change the view to External Systems.
      • Click the arrow beside PhoneSystem and select Set permissions.
      • If they do not already have permissions, find the Administrator account and All authenticated users, then click Add.
      • Set permissions for All Authenticated users to Edit, Execute, and Selectable In Clients.
      • Set all permissions for the Administrator.
      • Click the checkbox for Propagate permissions to all External Content Types that belong to this External System. Doing so will overwrite existing permissions.
      • Click OK.
      Set up web.config file for Windows Live Single Sign On service<br />Please refer to the section entitled REF _Ref265536800 * MERGEFORMAT Appendix B: Setting Up web.config For Windows Live Single Sign-On Service.<br />Installing the People Pack - User Profile & My Site Provisioning 1.0.9<br />Prerequisites<br />
      • Contoso users must be present in Active Directory
      • The following services or service applications must be installed and running:
      • Forefront Identity Manager Service
      • Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service
      • User Profile Service
      • User Profile Synchronization Service
      • Microsoft Content Pack Installer for SharePoint must be installed on the server.
      • There must be at least one SharePoint site on the server. Create a blank site if one does not exist.
      • A MySite host must exist on the server.
      Installation<br />
      • Log onto the server using the Administrator account
      • Run the Content Pack installer
      • Click Browse. Find the People Pack - User Profile & My Site Provisioning 4.0.0.zip file, then click OK.
      • Click Add to add the content pack.
      • Leave the installer open, then open Windows Explorer. Navigate to C:Content PacksPacksPeople Pack - User Profile & My Site Provisioning 1.0.9.
      • For each PowerShell script, perform the following actions:
      • Right-click the PowerShell script, and select Properties. The Properties window will display.
      • If you see an Unblock button, click it.
      • After ensuring all PowerShell scripts are unblocked, go back to the Content pack installer and click Content Packs.
      • Select People Pack – User Profile & My Site Provis , then click Install. The Install Path dialog box will display.
      • Type the name of an existing SharePoint site, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display:Also, the following input box will display:
      • Enter the site URL of your MySite host, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display again. Click Advanced to see more installation details.
      Post-installation<br />Run a full user profile synchronization<br />
      • Go to the Central Administration site, then click Manage service applications
      • Select User Profile Service Application | Start Profile Synchronization.
      • Click Start Full Synchronization, then click OK.
      Please note that the synchronization process will take a few minutes to start and run. You can track the progress of the synchronization using a ULS viewer from either Microsoft or the CodePlex community.<br />Installing the SharePoint 2010 Contoso K-12 Extranet Demo 1.0.0 Content Pack<br />Prerequisites<br />
      • People Pack - User Profile & My Site Provisioning 1.0.9 must be installed.
      • The Contoso K12 BI Content Pack must be installed.
      • Also, you must log on as Todd Rowe at least once so that Favorites can be added. Once you have logged on, log off and log back in as the Administrator.
      Installation<br />
      • Log onto the server using the Administrator account
      • Run the Content Pack installer
      • Click Browse. Find the Contoso K-12 Extranet Demo.zip file, then click OK.
      • Click Add to add the content pack.

      • People Pack - User Profile & My Site Provisioning 1.0.9 must be installed.
      • The Contoso University BI Content Pack must be installed
      • Also, you must log on as Barry Johnson at least once so that Favorites can be added. Once you have logged on, log off and log back in as the Administrator.
      Installation<br />
      • Log onto the server using the Administrator account
      • Run the Content Pack installer
      • Click Browse. Find the Contoso University Intranet Demo.zip file, then click OK.
      • Click Add to add the content pack.
      • Leave the installer open, then open Windows Explorer. Navigate to C:Content PacksPacksSharePoint 2010 Contoso University Intranet Demo 1.0.0.
      • For each PowerShell script, perform the following actions:
      • Right-click the PowerShell script, and select Properties. The Properties window will display.
      • If you see an Unblock button, click it.
      • After ensuring all PowerShell scripts are unblocked, go back to the Content pack installer and click Content Packs.
      • Select SharePoint 2010 Contoso University Intranet, then click Install. The Install Path dialog box will display.
      • Type http://intranet.contosou.edu, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display.
      • Enter the domain and user ID for the application pool account when prompted, then click OK. The Processing… dialog box will display again. Click Advanced to see more installation details.
      Post-installation<br />Set permissions for “PhoneSystem” External System and associated external content types <br />
      • Go to the Central Administration site. Select Manage Service Applications
      • Select Business Connectivity Services.
      • In the View section of the ribbon, change the view to External Systems.
      • Click the arrow beside PhoneSystem and select Set permissions.
      • If they do not already have permissions, find the Administrator account and All authenticated users, then click Add.
      • Set permissions for All Authenticated users to Edit, Execute, and Selectable In Clients.
      • Set all permissions for the Administrator.
      • Click the checkbox for Propagate permissions to all External Content Types that belong to this External System. Doing so will overwrite existing permissions.
      • Click OK.

      Publish the workflow for Student Petitions <br />
      • Open SharePoint Designer 2010. Open the following site: http://extranet.contosou.edu/petitions
      • Click the Workflows link in the left navigation bar. The following window will display:
      • Click the Import from Visio link, and select the Submissions - Adds and Updates.vwi file which should be in the Administrator’s “My Documents” folder. The following window will display:
      • Click Finish. The following window will display:
      • Click the Publish icon in the ribbon bar. The following dialog box may display:
      • Click Yes to All. The workflow will be validated, and then published to the server.Note: If you receive an error message after trying to publish the workflow, you may need to clear the WebSiteCache folder for SharePoint Designer 2010. To do this, please follow these steps:
      • Close SharePoint Designer 2010
      • Open Windows Explorer and navigate to this location : C:UsersAdministratorAppDataLocalMicrosoftWebsiteCache
      • Delete all files in this folder.
      • Open SharePoint Designer 2010.
      • Repeat steps 1 through 6
      • To confirm the workflow was published and associated with the Submissions list, click The Open associated list link. The following window will display:If the workflow is properly published, you should see Submissions – Adds and Updates in the Workflows section.

The following window will display:<br />Click Next. The following window will display: <br />Accept the defaults or change the install path, then click Next. Once successfully installed, the following window will display:<br />Click Close to finish the installation.<br />Click Start > All Programs > Windows Live SSO Service > SSO Server – Configuration. The Single Sign On Service configuration should open in an XML editor, such as Visual Studio. If you do not have an XML editor, right-click SSO Server – Configuration, and choose Open With – Notepad.<br />

      • Select Refresh Now.
      • Click OK.
      Create Scopes<br />
      • Go to the Central Administration site
      • Click Manage service applications. The Manage Service Applications window will display.
      • Click FAST Query.
      • Click Scopes. The FastQuery: View Scopes window will display.
      • Click New scope. The FastQuery Create Scope window will display.
      • Enter the following information:
      • Title: Contoso School District
      • Description: none
      • Last modified by: CONTOSO/Administrator
      • Target Results Page: Use the default Search Results Page
      • Click OK. The FastQuery: View Scopes window will display.
      • Click Add rule.
      • Create the following rule:
      • Scope Rule Type: Web Address (http://server/site):
      • Web Address: http://www.contoso.edu
      • Behavior: Include - Any item that matches this rule will be included, unless the item is excluded by another rule
      • Click OK.
      • Repeat steps 5 and 6. Enter the following information:

      • Click OK. The FastQuery: View Scopes window will display.
      • Click Add rule.
      • Create the following rule:

      • Click OK.
      Run a full crawl via the Search Service Application<br />
      • Go to the Central Administration site, then click Manage service applications
      • Select Search Service Application, then select Content Sources from the left navigation bar.The Search Service Application: Manage Content Sources page will display.
      • Click Local SharePoint Sites, then select Start Full Crawl.
      • Repeat steps 1 through 3 if you have FastSearch and/or FastQuery for content sources.
      Please note that a full search crawl will take a few minutes to start and run.<br />
