      • Malnutrition is a medical condition caused by an improper or insufficient diet.
      • TWO TYPES:
        • UNDERNUTRITION: consumption, poor absorption, or excessive loss of nutrients
        • OVERNUTRITION: overeating or excessive intake of specific nutrients
        • UNDERSTAND: both starvation and obesity are forms of malnutrition

    2. Malnutrition examples
      • Undernutrition is associated with extreme poverty in developing nations. It is often found in countries with civil unrest, natural disasters, and famine.
      • Overnutrition occurs with inappropriate dieting, overeating, or the absence of a balanced diet in developed countries.
