  9. 9. Multi channel TV (see report) Until recently, multi channel available on subscription - through cable and satellite. Satellite has been much more successful than cable - though Virgin has taken over many smaller cable companies and is a more serious competitor Digital information can be compressed leading to many more channels carried on smaller space - contributing to growth of multi-channel TV After failure of ITV Digital, BBC took over service and it became Freeview which has revolutionised the interest and service - nearly 10 million homes have Freeview access.
