Cloudmade Launch - Where Can I Live

 1. 1.

I care about user experience

I care about context

I care about style

 2. 2. nestoria.co.uk is a UK real estate search engine by Lokku Ltd. We have an API . Lokku Labs showcases interesting ways to use/search/explore/mix real estate data. E.g. web2.0 mashups , games, graphs
 3. 3. Search is fine when you know what you want What if I don’t know?
 4. 4. I work near Oxford Circus I don't want to spend more than 30min on the underground I can afford a 2 bedroom apartment for £300/week ... now tell me ... where-can-I-live.com http://flickr.com/photos/endlisnis/458894421/ 200 hours per year packed in a train?
 5. 6. We started with OpenStreetMap and Google's terrain view as an alternative. We switched to a customised CloudMade Map style because: - most views are on city-level (30x30km)‏ - we don't need car navigation (street numbers, exit numbers, titles)‏ - we wanted to use less bright colours - we wanted the map colours to fit the overall website style - we have an underground-lines overlay
 6. 7. Google Maps, zoom 10
 7. 8. CloudMade style “WCIL3”, zoom 10
 8. 10. What's next? - cycling, walking times (CloudMade Routing API)‏ - 320 more London Overground stations, train interchange - Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin...
