  • 6. Brainstorm Words and Concepts  Start with your topic  Write down everything that comes to mind  Use a thesaurus to find alternatives  Organize your list  Now you can combine terms and start searching HINT: Many of our resources will have a built-in thesaurus of preferred terms.
