IP Office Support Services (IPOSS) is a new maintenance offer that supports IP Office (IPO) R8.1 . This offer is available in a Wholesale and Co-Delivery Model through a Partner or Distributor . This offer delivers support Expertise from the Manufacturer, Avaya, in a fast and efficient manner. Avaya has been making many changes to our support through the use of web ticketing which allows us to assign a customer or partner service request quickly and to the best resource available. We have also added in a new Search Avaya Support capability which links to Knowledge Based articles, Tips, and How to videos through our Avaya Mentor program. With IPOSS both customers and Partners can be confident that they will have access to manufacturer support; as well as Intellectual property, such as Patches, Updates and Major Software Upgrades.
The Base IPOSS Offer is simple, yet flexible, and is optional. There is one fee per server/node. The base offers includes: 8x5 ,Monday through Friday Remote Technical support and Upgrades. Any time day or night access to our support site and tools, which includes access to patches ,updates and Upgrades.We have enhanced our security to allow Secure Remote Access through an SSL/VPN enabling partners the ability to perform upgrades , updates and Moves, Adds and Changes for the customer in a quick and secure manner. Available in a 1, 3 or 5 year prepaid term, allowing for increased flexibilityTo suit customer and partner needs there are various Parts coverage options: (NBD or Onsite delivery within 4 hours) and in the US for the Wholesale model, Onsite parts installation.IP Office Support Services is the going forward offer for IP Office R8.1 and future releases. The existing SME TSP Block of Hours offer remains available for SME legacy products, (including IP Office R8.0 and prior releases). The IP Office SSL/VPN SolutionThe IP Office SSL-VPN solution offers secure remote accessibility to the IP Office devices with minimum networking expertise required to set up the CPE at the customer site. The IP Office can be pre-configured with SSL-VPN configuration before installing on the customer’s site. The SSL/VPN solution is a cornerstone element of the new IP Office Support Services maintenance offer, allowing Avaya to provide industry leading remote troubleshooting and technical support. Partners have the option of allowing Avaya to host the server side connection to the IP Office or they can choose to host the server side themselves, as part of their service delivery infrastructure. When Avaya hosts the server side solution, partners will benefit from a reduction in their infrastructure investment and training requirements plus they will leverage a simplified, automated On-Boarding process that is described in a later section of this document. On the server site, should the partner decide to host the server side , the partner will need to install a server (VM) and install the Avaya VPN Gateway (AVG) software. The Partner will establish the SSL-VPN Gateway configuration on the IP Office so that the IP Office can trigger a secure tunnel back to the Gateway. A username/password is setup during the configuration step for security purposes. A second level of security is also provided with a server side certificate authentication. A radius server will then validate the username/password upon connection request initiated from the IP Office. Once the credentials are validated, the secure remote access is established.Solution RequirementsAt a minimum, the partner needs is to ensure that a broadband connection is available at the customer site to take advantage of the secure remote access via Avaya IP Office SSL-VPN solution. A partner deciding to host the server side, can purchase (scale as you go) the SSL-VPN licenses based on how many simultaneous connections are required. The AVG software is installed on a VM server software (partner can chose the server of their choice) and set up a radius server for username/password authentication. The same VM server can also act as a radius server or the partner can use a separate radius server or reuse an existing radius server based on their IT department’s recommendations and security policy.
