  • Today’s session:
    • Introduction to waste (especially food waste) from me
    • Short lecture from Andrea Collin
    • Focus groups, incorporating a short reading
  • Waste:
    • Local and distant consequences, in time and space
    • Connects individual to the public to the commercial
    • It features in various ‘impact calculators’, like the Carbon Gym and ‘Ecological Footprint’
  • But how is a sustainable approach to waste structured into our lives and identities?
    • Not dropping litter and sorting our waste at home are increasingly social norms, supported by ‘green architecture’
    • But is this true of all wastes e.g. food?
    • And what about when we’re not ‘residents’, acting ‘at home’? What about our waste behaviour in other spheres of our lives?
