      • Why? Literacy focus
      • Encourage reading, discussion, reflective thinking
      • Improve writing quality (authentic audience, peer feedback)
      • Connect with ideas expressed in other students’ writing
      • Promote “ethical publishing” (“netiquette”)
      • Students can work at own pace, from school or home
      • Usability - Easy as MS Word - little technical knowledge needed
      • Students can subscribe to sites using built-in RSS feed
      • Engage through use of multimedia (suit range of learning styles)
      • Marks stored on Moodle
      • Online journals (blogs): * Individual writing journal * Whole class “journal” * Post prep tasks * Assignment submission * Exam/assessment resourc e
