  • 1. COMENIUS COURSE - INTRODUCTION TO FILM-MAKING Teacher Georgeta Manafu
  • 2. <ul><li>From 9 th to13 th May 2011 I attended in Finland the Comenius course: “Introduction to Film-Making”, having 11-1282-COM-CG-FI as application reference number. The course was organized and conducted by PSK-Aikuisopisto of Oulu, Finland.  One presented the Movie Maker, Audacity and Paint.Net programmes within the course. The cultural programme offered by the organizers included a tour of the city, the visit of the Oulu Cathedral and of the City Hall. </li></ul>
  • 3. <ul><li>Monday, May 9th, 2011  Each participant presented their materials prepared for the course: they introduced themselves, presented their school, city, country of origin;  One presented how a digital camera functions as well as information about digital cameras and camcorders. Teaching methods to movie making and the role of movies in international projects were also introduced.  We went on a cultural tour of the Oulu city. </li></ul>
  • 4. <ul><li>Tuesday May 10th, 2011  We were introduced to film editing and the Paint.Net programme was presented, as well as animations techniques that can be used in movies. </li></ul><ul><li>Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 We visited the City Hall of Oulu, a cultural center and an international school in Oulu. The Audacity programme was presented to us. </li></ul>
  • 5. <ul><li>Thursday, May 12th, 2011  The Movie Maker programme was presented as well as the stages of making a film, the storyboard, the effects that can be added to the film, the copyright, the films evaluation and we shot the movies by means of which we were finally assessed.  The materials used were pictures, video and audio sequenced taken during the course. </li></ul>
  • 6. <ul><li>Friday, May 13th, 2011  The release of the films shot by the participants with a view to their being evaluated by the trainer of the activity.  Comenius-Grundtvig projects presentation  Feedback for the course. </li></ul>
  • 7. <ul><li> Windows Movie Maker is a video editing program.  The most important activities relate to: creating a storyboard, editing clips and adding the sound. </li></ul><ul><li>The stages to be followed in order to shoot a movie are:  1. Launching the program: Start&gt; All Programs-&gt; Windows Movie Maker  2. Setting the time for each slide: Tools-&gt; Options-&gt; Advanced  3. Saving the project: File-&gt; Save Project or File-&gt; Save Project As </li></ul>
  • 8. <ul><li>One has to import the video clips in the computer using the Import video command to create a Storyboard. The slide pin should also be positioned in the desired order. </li></ul><ul><li>To add the transition effects one should: 1. Edit Movie -&gt; View video transitions 2. Choose the transition 3. Add the selected transition by dragging. </li></ul>
  • 9. <ul><li>To add video effects one should: 1. Edit - Movie &gt; View Video Effects 2. Choose the desired effect 3. Add the desired effect by dragging </li></ul>
  • 10. <ul><li>Movie Maker can be used by students to make movies that promote tolerance, intercultural diversity.  As a result of my participation in this training course I have diversified my teaching strategy, I will apply new teaching methods and techniques, I will use modern, attractive means of education which should emphasize the practical nature of this subject and its connection with everyday life. </li></ul>
