  • pizza41 pizza41 Yes,you can make good money.Stick to the restaurant business side of it.If you get involved in selling infomercial products you won/t last if you have a conscience.Do you like ripping off old people?Do you like being controlled? You are not allowed to accept no from a customer unless the clearly state they want to cancel their order.Very Hard sell on products the customer did not even inquire about,I quit because of the Trudeau author..I ordered his books and was disgusted by him and his plagerism, and his offer to partake in his secret society.... 1 year ago Reply

  • bubbaray bubbaray wow that is terrible heather, but see I do read about these online company's but i really don't know what to believe, because you don't know if the positive ones are CEO or salary paid employees for these company's that are posting in these forums my dad who owned a great business for 45 years and BBB all state never pay for anything. but being a 1099 is different , background checks etc , most company's have a yearly program they pay for that allows them to look into any new hires for a fraction of what we have to pay , they pay a base price and they can look up hundreds of people maybe even thousands. I was a asst at bl**kb**ter online and they do those checks but they use those programs but then again there not 1099 sub contractors there employees, and when you pay the 50 dollars and you do fail , your down 50 dollars now .. IDK i miss the days that we got a job and made money, I been putting so many hours each day trying to find work at home and just everything on websites seems to be cons and its really getting sicken, not just job sites but everything , you click on something and then your phone goes nuts with health insurance sales etc I love pcs but im ready to pull the plug, give back the 80s when the economy rocked and you didn't have go threw any this bull, btw I am not meaning this to live-ops they seem ok they have better feedback then j*bn*b and others i have seen .lol Im just talking about the way things are today in web-land , you really have to be careful, when i use to make 50k a year etc i didn't mind putting money into something to see if it worked , but I cant anymore guess i am stuck , one thing I did like on liveops website they broke down what they check on your credit , least you have a idea before you do pay , so I may try applying least they seem somewhat honest, but what happened to heather now makes me wonder .. 1 year ago Reply

  • DrOdd1 DrOdd1 Because of changing state laws and changing enforcement by state and federal agencies against Independent Contractors, Liveops isn't a good bet for now. Liveops classifies agents as Independent Contractors which is getting harder to do as the state and federal government are going after IC's to get the extra tax revenue.

Liveops canceled all contracts in New Hampshire without warning in December of 2009. This will be happening more and more as different states change their laws or increase enforcement against wrongly classified Independent Contractors.

Liveops is also changing many internal policies in an attempt to continue saying agents are IC's. Being able to say we are IC's vs employees is a big money saver for LO. Many agents are getting let go without any clear reason becasue LO is afraid to control the work that we do or tell us what the criteria is for keeping our jobs. Generally, to be considered an IC by the IRS, the bossman can't exert control over the worker or tell the worker how to do the job. The bossman can only measure the result of the completed job.

This is making the working conditions very poor and agents don't know when suddenly they'll get an email saying they've been let go! Don't count on LO for regular income.

  • ldunn4556 ldunn4556 I worked for Liveops for 6 months and eventually became quite satisfied with the income.. But during that time I noticed that anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes of talk time would not be credited and when I would try to get the time the agent facilitators would end up sending me a generic messages that basically I had it wrong. Well, one day they shorted me a whole hour but this time, I had printed out a copy of my calls for that day totaling about 456 minutes which made my goal of making $100.00 a day. The assigned AF promptly told me that I was wrong...even after I had offered to send her a copy of the calls for the day. Instead and after a few days of trying to get my hr. she eventually sent me a copy of the minutes which Liveops had calculated including the actual calls and minutes spent on each call. The AF had directed me to review the list she emailed me and then make a list of any missing calls. So as I prepared to do this I decided it would be easier to print out the list they have from the site since the AF had sent the list in paragraph form. I again asked her if she wanted my copy but apparently she wasn't paying attention to what I was saying but I was determined to get my hours pay. Anyway, after a couple of days of trying to resolve the issue her way, I go to get the list from my invoices with Liveops to match it with the one I printed out and I couldn't find it. Finally I realized that the error had been corrected and the invoice for that day appeared exactly right at just over $100.00 for that day. It had been corrected even thought the AF said Liveops had the minutes right and after she had sent me a copy of Liveops accounting of my minutes. So, I emailed the AF letting her know that the minutes had mysteriously appeared on my invoice for that day so all was fine at that point; I thanked her for her help and thought that was that! Well! The very next day I logged in to begin work as usual and just what? My account had been terminated. The reason stated was 'too many level 2 violations of the Standards of Performance. Admittedly, I had accumulated 11 violations for some of the same and some different types. Now, as mentioned earlier, I believed they were stealing minutes but would never be allowed to prove it to them but I decided an hour was just too much and I worked too hard trying to make my quota only to have them steal some of it back! The point is that I believe my business was terminated because I caught them and had proof the system had not paid me properly and that they were denying it. I believe when they realized that I had actual proof I had been cheated, I became a trouble maker. Imagine this: 20,000 worker bunnies and if they stole just one dollar from each of us each day, we as a group would not necessarily miss it or balk too much about 4 minutes of talk time missing....Christ, most aren't even missing it! But it my theory is true then Liveops could be stealing $20,000.00 a day from its independent contractors. Imagine that! I just wanted to get this info out there so if any other agents have been zapped under similar circumstances or, have noticed not being pay for all minutes they talked then they have some support from someone else who was cheated out of minutes consistently as well. The way the Liveops system is set up you have very little to no contact with live people and from what I can tell if you catch them cheating you, they pay you then terminate your contract. I believe they are headed for a class action once everyone figures out what is happening. The problem is that the agents must gather and chat outside of Liveops website. I'm saving my proofs and plan to contact Good Morning America who legitimized this operation nationwide. Also, their contracts are so much in their favor with rights to terminate at Liveops wills, that I believe a court would find them illegal even though it is under the auspices of independent contractors. The new contract independent contractors are required to sign even states that employees must promise 'not' to gather in legal action against them. They must see it coming and figure it'll still be cheaper to settle a legal battle than what they can steal per day for who knows how long from their agents. At to top it all off, their system has glitches which cause loss time to you while committed to work but they will always blame it on you AND, take it out on your performance rating which of course dictates the number of calls you will receive. Upon appeal, they did not respond but one of them replied and said that I could reapply using a different email address even though the guidelines for reapplying clearly state that you cannot reapply for 6 months. I tried reapplying and the only reason I could not get back in was because I had filed a bankruptcy in the past 12 months and that disqualifies you. One might ask why I would even want to reapply. Well that's simple, even knowing what I know, I was still able to make nearly 3 grand a month and as a disabled veteran, I needed that income. I sorely wish I had let them keep that hour and I'd likely still be working there! So yes, I am pisssed at them . They really don’t care about quality agents. But then, maybe I just became too much of a threat with what I have proof of.

The concept for those who wish to work form home is great for those of us in need of at home employment but the management at Liveops seriously sucks!

  • heather1983 heather1983 I worked for LiveOps for almost one year and had quite my job to work for them full time. I had a long talk time call in which I was able to save a customer, and sold her every upgrade and affinity there was. LiveOps shut 'my business' down by pulling the plug on my ability to log in and work one day, out of the blue, with no warning. My income was gone, and so went my home and everything I own. Not too many other jobs going around in the marketplace right now. Be careful... 2 years ago Reply
