    • Introduction of substance into the environment such that it results in unpleasant or damaging effects on people.
  • 7. What is waste?
    • Refers to materials that are useless and no longer wanted.
    • Waste generated by households includes leftover food and unclean, used water.
    • Waste can be generated by industrial and agriculture activities.
    • When waste is not disposed properly or there is an excessive amount of waste, pollution occurs.

    • Occurs when pollutants such as dust and smoke are released into the environment.
    • When dust and smoke particles are suspended in the air, result in haze.
    • Dust and smoke combine with water vapour and toxic gases from factories to form smog.
