Why not?
Innovation and shaping the future
Why not?
There are those who look at things the way
they are, and ask why... I dream of things that
never were, and ask why not?”
obert Kennedy
Vision is the start
Leonardo da Vinci: inventions that could be
completed much later, when the technology
would exist.
Bill Gates: a personal computer in every
home, by then computers were the size of a
room.
Persistence pays off
Edison and the material for the incandescent
bulb filament.
Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone.
Innovation changes the world
Back to 1900 (world’s oldest person has seen these changes):
No TV, no cell phones, no computers
No supermarkets, no fast food, no credit cards
No health plan, no retirement, no vacations
No commercial airlines, no satellites
No nuclear physics
No antibiotics
Just a few cars, no motorways, no mass tourism
No nuclear physics
Food only from the season and locally produced
Plenty of fish in the sea
Etc…
Encouraging innovation
Need of vision and leadership.
Need of persistence, resources and
resourcefulness.
Nothing like a crisis or competition: economic
recession, conflict, need for survival (military is a
major driver of innovation).
A little greed helps, too.
Complacency grows with comfort and safety.
Happy accidents (penicillin).
Beware of efficiency
Innovation serves one purpose: improving
our lives.
Man created innovation and must stay its
master.
Innovation must come with the vision of the
consequences.
Is your business missing opportunities?
What are these opportunities?
What is missing?
What are the causes?
What are the resistances?
You can reshape your business
Forget the old habits.
Think of today’s possibilities.
How it could look like.
How it should look like.
How it would look like.
