    • Conclusion:Overall none of the aspects of our documentary werebelow 4, which shows that the aspects of ourdocumentary were good. People found that thedocumentary was more entertaining and had aprofessional feel, which suggests that we have beenable to successfully follow the codes of conventions ofdocumentaries, because documentaries cannot appearto be boring in the first 5 minutes, as people would loseinterest and switch over. We have learnt from our targetaudience that these aspects were liked better. Theseare more content based aspects, which suggests thatour documentary contained professional based content.
    • Do you think our documentary is similar to other professional documentaries in terms of the style? Sometimes No Yes 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7In terms of this question, style referred to the overall feel of the documentary, and howwell they think that it conforms to the conventions they imagine in their head when theywatch a documentary. This question has showed us that most people thought that it didwith a small percentage thought otherwise, which suggests we could have been stricterwith our following of codes and conventions of documentaries.

    • Conclusion8 out of the 12 people who did this questionnaire said they wouldcontinue to watch this documentary after the first 5 minutes. Whenasked why, 1 person said that it was relevant to their agerange, and 3 people said that it was an interesting topic. On theother hand other people said that they were not sure, with reasonssuch as the scheduling of other programmes, or that they don’tparticularly find the topic interesting as they do not tan. Thissuggests that within our target audience, people who do tan weremore likely going to watch this than people who don’t associatethemselves with the tanning culture. On the other hand this couldsuggest that more careful consideration of the scheduling andplacement of the documentary was necessary, whether it would bebetter to inherit or pre-echo the audience. I feel this could havebeen improved if we perhaps included something in ourdocumentary to appeal to those who don’t tan, to cover a wideraudience.
    • Do you like the documentary? 0 Yes No 12Everyone that we asked liked our documentary which suggests that we aimed forthe correct target audience.
    • Is there anything that you think couldhave been improved?When asked this question, people suggested that the cutawayscould have been longer and that in some places this made itdifficult to understand what they were. In other parts peoplesuggested the sound levels could have been improved, forexample the music bed of ‘When I Grow Up’ could have beenlouder, adjusting the sound levels more carefully would have fixedthis. Also people felt that it was a bit one sided, siding with thenegatives of tanning and suggestions were made to include moreof the benefits of tanning. After watching the documentary I can seehow people came to this conclusion, and this would have beenimproved if we had a voiceover or an interview commenting on thefact one of the benefits of tanning is that people do feel better forexample.

    • ConclusionThose that said they would watch the documentary due to the radiotrailer said that they liked the music bed, which they felt wasrelevant to the themes of the documentary. However the 2 peoplethat said they would not watch the documentary said this becausethey don’t listen to the radio much, and when they do they don’t payattention to the adverts, and would prefer to change over when theycame on. This implies that the radio trailer would not be successfulin targeting all of the target audience, as some people will not listento the radio/ignore the trailers, which is something that we would beunable to affect ourselves.

    • Conclusion2 People said that the print advert was interestingas they reason to why they would watch thedocumentary. Other people commented that theadvert was eye catching and unique, which showsthat the conventions were followed, and that theadvert stands out. People who put that they wouldnot watch it said that ‘it wouldn’t interest me as I donot tan’ and another saying the imaged scare her.Combining this with feedback received from othersources I think it would have been better if the tanworked like a progressive clock face, so wouldhave been improved reversed.

This suggests that is in eye catchingdue to the composition and the feel of the overall advert.
